It seems that when I'm in my 996 Turbo and following at a very reasonable distance behind someone on the Interstate (trying to avoid debris being thrown up and back), the person will get distracted (cell phone?) and drift a bit into the emergency lane, where an even higher percentage of road junk resides, throwing stuff back my way! It's just darn near impossible to protect your paint work.

If you're concerned with rock chips, do it.

Flushed brakes yesterday and went for a nice 2 hour long drive!

Also tried one more attempt to remove the accumulator even after grinding the wrench a lot, still no luck. I am letting the dealer do this for me this time.

Installed the 997 GT3 shifter with some metal bushings I made for it, silky smooth

Did the ball bearing detent upgrade

Installed the EB Werks Static spoiler mounts, made a couple mods to make them fit tighter and rattle free by using an oring on the top to act as a crush seal. Then drilled and thru bolted the bracket with the piston with a M6 bolt.

Mounted up

Fresh oil change and fix the silly oil leak from the kinked line when the repair shop of the past owner put new turbo's in....that was fun snaking the line in

Good work. May I ask what year is your turbo?

Went to the track for lunch and tried out that Track Addict app for the first time.
Just used it as a lap time but bought a cell mount and camera to put on the dash so next time can get some footage. Also got one of those OBD port Wi-Fi plugs coming so I can see some other info...

More what didn't I do, here's the list and the eye watering bill;
100kms service, spark plugs included.
Brake fluid change.
Hand break adjustment.
Aircon recharge.
New wing mirror motor.
New keys (both)!!
Front end respray (bye bye stone chips after 14 years accumulation) bonnet, front spoiler, wings and blend into doors + both wing mirrors.
New front lower spoiler.
Grand total bill was 7300 euros.
Pictures to follow of respray, looks amazing, blending was done to perfection.
And to cap it off, full exterior detail.
I think even the dealer felt sorry for me and threw in new key rings FOC.

A lot of money but I like to keep it tip top and I am very happy with the results. The dealer was telling me they are seeing a surge in 6TT prices, so good news for us all. He thinks next year will see them push up further. 6GT2's are already rocketing around here. I guess we are on the Porsche bubble rise now.

Next job slave cylinder (I think I have a minor leak, they checked it and said it was fine)
