Ahh... I was speaking of the factory 12v motor driven hydraulic pump system... I know nothing of possible rennkit power draw.

Yes, I just left the wing up as I was on the highway for a couple hundred clicks.... So when I parked, it was up.

Left it on charge overnight, we shall see....

The MicroModule draws .02 amps while powered, but the power is shut off by the ECU several minutes after the key is shut off.

Thanks Dave, I put the car on charge overnight, I'll run it to the shop tomorrow and let you know... My thought was maybe the wing was trying to just keep going up.

Back when I had the airplanes I was tempted to try a speed run early in the morning. The field I was based at had only 3600 feet though. I am not certain that would have been enough to be worthwhile with the 240hp E36 M3 I had.

A starter is an electric motor, electric motors have contact points, sometimes a small section of the contact surface goes bad and will no long conduct, thus a dead spot.

I had an issue similar to this with the passenger seat. I had moved it all the way forward and the switch got stuck and I didn't notice. Next day the battery was dead. My A/C fan switches get sticky sometimes as well. The spoiler switch is different, but maybe it's sticking?

Good point, seems to run ok this morning, however, my odometer seems to have reset itself.

I just wanted to give 'er the gears without fear of arrest; not even a mile, so I am not sure I would have hit top speed, and, have enough room to slow down.

I did give it a clean yesterday and noticed that the top vent switch on the AC console was a bit sticky, but once the power is off, shouldn't be a drain there; mine has manual seats, and electric fore and aft, but I have not noticed if they are powered without the car on.

Are you sure the battery was dead? Or was the starter just not turning over?

First attempt at bump starting it failed, but I did rotate everything, so we pushed it back up the incline and I tried the key again, voltage dropped way down, sounded like a flat battery, but stereo, dash, everything was lit up.

Second effort of bump starting worked (hate doing that in the car), drove it home, shut it down in the garage, then it started right up, but the auto window one touch thingy wasn't working, worked after a restart. I noticed this morning the odometer reset itself (I use it to keep track of my oil change intervals), so there was most certainly not a lot of voltage at one point.

It might be a battery/charging issue but it could be the starter malfunctioning and sucking the life out of the battery.

I would suggest getting the charging/starting systems checked.

Lit it up once more, no problems, reading just under 14v, so going to leave it off the charger overnight and see what happens tomorrow.
