5 am in the morning, got up to wash the Car. Some people have Cinnamon Toast Crunch for Breakfast I have Buffalo Trace. I love Saturdays I hang around guys that like the same stuff I do, the cars spent some time with their relatives. Get out of cars and coffees a WRX wants to race me, I kicked his as??? ? Then I decide is time to hit one of my local watering holes. Come on $2.50 pints drat beer 🍺 on Saturday, things are great here in Texas.
Not coffee but Buffalo trace.
A newer turbo, carbon fiber mats porsche option $1700.
996 .
Love the rear end of the turbo.
Cheap as hell $2.50 drafts. I need to buy another car.
Oil special with Tax $42. You get the oil filter and a $15 Gift card pretty cheap.
What can I say, my beverage carrier container.

making progress on the coilover installation... seeing the light at the end of the tunnel but the last few feet always seem to take the longest... just trying to work on clearance issues with the aircup on top of the assembly and the inner tire... i'm not even sure what will happen with turning... i'm figuring 5-7mm spacer then bump the camber to clear the fender, it's already rolled...
Passenger side inner tire clearance with the aircup
driver side looks even tighter
currently about stock ride height...

5mm spacers should be more than enough.

Parked it for the season - leaky turbo and other irritants.
So, broke the baby boxer out to fill the void.

Three Wheelin'
First maintenance trip, headers and exhaust
Spent most of the day at my mechanic. Had parts with me and we were able to get everything I wanted to get done before 3 pm. 1. Cleaned out the front radiators, god they were dirty I think this has never been done in its life. 2. Installed new shocks for engine lid. 3. Installed kn panel filter. 4. Headers and exhaust. I went back “old school “ and we gasket matched the Copper exhaust gasket. We weighted the headers and exhaust so we eliminated over 25 lbs of weight. My mechanic pointed out that the wheel nuts were incorrect so he replaced those. We fixed some of the tubing from the windshield water pump. Everything looked pretty good underneath, in the future front brake pads and maybe rotors are going to be needed. Now I’m trying to identify what intercoolers and turbo I have. The car is now louder and throttle response is great. Now I can see constant 0.8 bar boost but saw 0.9 a couple of times. Yes got to drink some beers and smoked a pork tenderloin and Texas akaushi jalapeño cheese sausage for our lunch. I love being retired and been able to spend a day driving and working fixing my p cars. My mechanic is also awesome and lets me watch, help. The round trip was a little over 100 miles so enjoyed driving the car, yes burst to triple digits a few times.
This was one of the items on the list, i had seen the leaves thru the bumper so I knew I wanted to get that cleaned.
The other side.
Intercoolers, don’t know which one it is. The car has agency power diverter valves and intercooler pipes.
Old school gasket matching with a dremmel tool.
Don’t know what kind of headers these are. Yes they are a lot less restrictive than factory. They weight 1.25 lbs less than factory.
Installing new serpentine belt.
Trying to figure which turbo is this.
Pork tenderloin and akaushi jalapeño pepper garlic sausage.
Lunch, potatoe salad and green beans to go with the meat and off course beers.
My mechanic is putting together a 65 356.
He also water washed the radiators after vacuuming and blowing.
On that concrete pad he’ll be building a bigger garage.

Marek knows his stuff, but he must be mistaken. You can clearly see the KKK triangle/K logo marking on the cold side.

It's those types of comments that make me wish I was more engine removal capable - ironically, I have zero issues doing work on the STi, as long as it doesn't require its engine out.
