if you don't have a clutch stop look into one. I had the same problem moving from IN to TN. don't tell any one I told you this but you can make one with small pvc pipe section or butt spice piece and a couple zip ties. the clutch lever is like a c channel so it cradles the pvc. just buy a couple different diameters to try. money back guarantee that you'll like it.

I am a fan of a more direct, heavier clutch for that exact reason - the car makes enough torque off idle that I am able to walk it in just about any scenario because I can feel the engagement coming on in my left foot.

Perhaps, a GT3rs clutch and lightweight flywheel are in your future ....

Looks like you guys had a lot of seat time and not many cars, which I thought no would be nice.

As I now have a second 996 Turbo that is set up more for daily driving, I was comfortable going a bit more 'track purposed' with this one... These race buckets are IMHO much easier to get in and out of than many others out there...

Paul, perhaps not for tracking, but as I knew the 996 was going to be 'modded', this is the very reason the 991 came into existence - to be there as a fun, reliable non touched car that has a warranty!

Those seats need full harnesses to really work on the track.

No doubt a full harnesses will take them to the next level, but had a fairly casual track day yesterday and they were awesome even with the 3-point factory.... Stuck in place very nicely without being overly squished into the seat.

Plus moving to a full harness also means putting in a harness or roll bar, going with a HANS system, etc.

Avoid all squishing when possible.

How are those seats marinating?

They should be pretty supple. I would apply the second Leatherique cleaner, let it soak for 10-20 to break down the initial, then wipe down with a wrung out, but warm and wet cotton cloth. Dunk it in warm water and wring it out between wipe downs and you'll see that water turn pretty nasty since all the contaminants and dirt are coming out.

Not so bad, they came out pretty good, thank you very much!

I will look at trying that this weekend.

How is all the dirt getting on your seats?

In my case, it usually happens after I roll around in the mud, then, get into the car...

You should be using a HANS right now. The Simpson Hybrid works with 3 point belts, it's what I currently use....

Ripped these stubs axles out of a "junk" set I bought off eBay.

Have what I need to do the rwd conversion now. Guards diff is supposed to arrive Monday.
