Considering all the work I put into it... Japanese don't care about maintenance when looking at the purchase price. They focus on appearance. This car has a few scratches so I'd need to touch them up.

Got the car back from the shop, race alignment done (after I'd installed GT3 lower control arms myself) and had a Guards limited slip rear diff installed. The diff has really made a very noticeable difference on how the car drives on the street. I need to get some more miles on it to comment more about it...
I managed to get one, good run, out of mine this season - 2400ish kms though the mountains and back - and must comment that after I got back, this really was something I should have done the very moment I got the car. Well worth the money.

Are you finding that with the diff installed the PSM is much more touchy? I never run PSM when on track but on the street I usually leave it on...
In all honesty, I never turn the PSM off. Mainly because I forget it is even there, and secondly, because my goal when driving the car fast is to do it as smoothly as possible - the days of slamming gears and hooligan full throttle launches are behind me. For the most part...
When it rains, which is often here, I see the odd flicker of the PSM light, generally starting off in an intersection. What I really noticed was braking, particularly in the rain - absolutely linear, no squirlyness. The same for acceleration - whereas the open diff would somewhat wiggle around a bunch before, now it just locks and is completely stable, which is very nice.
It has not been on the track; it was supposed to go in September to Area 27, but due to a myriad of chaos (fires, covid) the day was cancelled. Hopefully, I will be able to get it on the track next season and play with it for a couple of days.
Did some minor shock tuning, ride height adjustment, and corner balancing on the Polar Turbo...
I have two 996 Turbos, this one I picked up a few months ago. KW-V3 suspension, which is quite good, but the setup was off.. Shock rebound/compression were way off, ride height too low in the front, sway bars not well adjusted, and I've just been iterating through some minor tweaks to help it drive as nicely as my other 996 Turbo. Think I am just about there!
It still has a 19" wheel setup, which looks awesome, but gives the car a bit of rake and tire ratio change that the jury is still out on.
I also put together a google sheets spreadsheet to do all the calculations and display it in a more intuitive way if anyone wants or needs it.

I borrowed this set as they are so damn expensive (and they really shouldn't be)... Some calibrated stress gauges on four aluminum blocks, some wireless connections to an android or iphone, and a bit of software. I don't think there is a huge market for resale, but I can't believe the BOM cost for a well engineered solution would be over $150, and they sell for ten times that.
What suspension do you have on your other turbo? Pretty impressive setup you have and assume your playing around with your own alignment settings too?
Curious as I’m leading toward a suspension overhaul in the near future. Looking into the normal suspects…. I want a street complaint setup with out any mono ball/spherical bearings as any performance focused driving will sum up maybe 15% of the driving i intend to do. The NVH and increased ware and tare on components and myself is not what I’m after….give me bushings, with minor adjustability.

I run H&R Sport springs and Bilstein B8 shocks on the other Turbo. Honestly, I think it is fantastic, a perfect fast canyon and occasional track day setup. So many owners go with adjustable coil-overs with multi-way adjustable shocks, which can also be excellent but only with a plenty of testing and tuning, which they almost never do.
I've played a bit with home garage alignment using simple camber gauges, toe plates, etc. but honestly that's a bit of an art and doing it without a real alignment rack and way more experience than I have isn't easy.
