I have hybrid turbos and this thing is pretty damn quick now. Glad I got that front diff put back in. It was scary in RWD without an LSD. It still squirms under power, but I have peace of mind now...
No wheelies yet. The fella I got it from only had it 6 months. He said it was restored 10 yrs ago and whoever did it was pretty detail oriented and did nice work. It is in really good condition still. Has some electrical projects to sort, we have fixed a few leaks, and it could use the pusher fan kit setting on my work bench for the hot days ahead. I had to order up the wheels and tires to give it more attitude because it had torque thrusts with BFG radial t/a, which looked okay but not my style. After a month or so of proving reliable plan to do a nitrous kit. Never had nitrous but with this car it just seems appropriate. Turns out there is a dyno shop 15 min from me to make sure it is tuned and safe on the bottle. 454, 4 speed, 12 bolt posi. The exhaust note is pretty business. Long tube headers into 2.5" duals and 40 series flowmasters.
Very cool toy; nothing quite like a tuned big block to bomb around in.
That is really impressive; I am looking forward to what mine will do when I tune it next week.
Yeah, I actually had the chance to drive it yesterday to a PCA dinner. This thing was fast before, but it is a monster now! I am very pleased with how it turned out.
maybe I'll see what current expected lead time is here...compare some notes
I am in desparate need of either the rt615 or new rt660, but they only have either the rears or fronts, no matching set. Before I order a mismatched set, let me know if you have a lead on some in stock.
