I hadn't driven a G body in years, but a couple of months ago I was driving a friends 85 Carrera and I had forgotten how small the footwell is - my size 13s left foot had to be skewed inwards so I could press the clutch.

I had the same thought, but I was on a different drive last Saturday with a new GT3 and remember thinking how small the Turbo looked in comparison. Even the GT4 Cayman is visually larger...

Real Ruf Yellowbird or replica? I'm building an 81' SC with replica yellowbird bumpers.

And interestingly enough, most of the width happens from the cabin out... Nice elders PFBZ!

I was just looking for a pic of the 996 beside the 991, but the angles are wrong to give proper perspective, but the 991 is considerably bigger.

From a dynamic perspective, the 991 is 400lbs heavier than the 996, and you can feel it - especially in the city.

And when you look at the M5 and Tts together, the 991 is almost as long. For reference the M5 weighs in at 4300lbs.

When Porsche stretched the wheel base 4 inches to help with CAFE standards it (IMO) really made the car look bigger from the side.

Yes, and true - it is a very long car, and with the flares, quite wide as well, as I managed to demonstrate when I drove it into a concrete abutment...

I'd take the 71 RS replica over the GT2RS.

RS replica.

The GT2RS is neat, but with 700hp, it has to be a little more practical...

True, but I already have a 700+ HP car and it is more practical than the GT2RS.

The replica is something I could build myself, while learning it's history, which I think would be pretty cool.
