Thank you. I like the 917 Replica ***** I have in my air cooled cars. Wanted to see how I liked on in the 996TT. Sourced this off eBay. For the price, it was not going to be too painful if I did not like it.

EBay 917 Style **** for 996/997’s

Oddly the other day I was thinking, damn I'm tired of not being able to see my engine on my GT3... it like boring to not be able to see anything. Yet my buddy has a a cool looking V8 and can pop the hood and geek out on it.
Yeah, I didn't get to see mine when it was out, only a few random pics... the engine in my Suburban is better looking...

This, is an ugly engine , easy to work on. Ours is the kinda girl you take out and spend a bunch of money on every date and after a few you realize, she aint that special. Fortunately i havent been on a date with her yet.

It's mahogany with gloss finish, used on most 917. Porsche used balsa for the 908, birch for the 917 and beech for the Carrera GT

240/60/80?

And those engines are pretty sweet, not too cluttered...

Is that a 560sl to the left? There is some solid German engineering. A buddy of mine had one and put almost half a million miles on it before he sold it, great car.

The wheels look good too...

Yes 1988 560SL with 60,000 miles - and yes unbelievable engineering. It's almost as heavy as my F-150
