I am almost positive that is a Tip trans. That is why it looks/is so big. The manual is quite a bit smaller and lighter.

I spend very little time looking at my 996 Turbo's engine, so ugly is fine with me.

The engine can be ugly given how well it performs (I have known guys who think about women the same way.)

I think it was the drive coming off the other pics case that got me - that's a nice engine table, shop isn't to shabby either...

If you're in San Diego, I recommend them (Vollig).

Interestingly enough, I recognize the label on the engine table as AGA (All German Auto), who is also in San Diego.

Yes, that's pretty big. I am used to that transmission without the extra bits for the AWD.

I started laughing at that out loud. It is quite funny after all... yeah it freaking ugly and long and odd. I never thought about it but to hear someone say it was pretty funny.

Oddly the other day I was thinking, damn I'm tired of not being able to see my engine on my GT3... it like boring to not be able to see anything. Yet my buddy has a a cool looking V8 and can pop the hood and geek out on it.
