What did you do to your 996TT today?

Installed updated 997TT transmission mount. On the factory mount the rubber was cracked all the way through in the same spot on both sides. Car just hit 50k miles. I must say I am not impressed by the difference. The 997TT mount has a lot of play in it. I wish I had filled the gaps with that glass repair stuff or placed inserts in them before installing the mount.

I've got the same dido rings installed in my '02 and they really are a nice addition. I went with the brushed SS look instead of the chrome. That + painting the center console/shifter trim piece really modernized the interior.

Brought back to lif==the headlights
P.O. had done an ok job getting most of the oxidation out, but after 15 months & no sealant they were getting back. Bought a Mothers kit, but also bought the Chris Fixit kit.
Prep was about 20 min per light. Tried the Mothers, on a cordless drill with 800 for about 30 min and then went manual--800 3M wet/dry around a sponge and lots of swirling. Went thru 1 bottle of water for each lense but got rid of the pitted/yellow stuff. Ditched the Mothers for the 1500---did all of that by hand and then finished with the drill on the corners edges. 2000 was all manual, and lots and lots of water. Then cleaned everything up, and went with Mothers 3000 pad, followed by her polishing pad.
I must say it came out great--absolute crystal clear....and that is where things may have gone south. I went with the rattlecan 2x and despite following prep work (exception being amonia instead of iso alcohol as cleaning agent), i got crazy crazying on my lenses. put on 3 -4 more coats, and have them under heat lamps for the evening. My guess is that most of that is going to need to come off with 1500/2000/3000 tomorrow and see if can be salvaged without full do-over.
