I agree, not much of a mod per se, but think the cars look much better with the quad style tips over the standard ovals. Quad tips should have been standard IMO.

I like the sticker. Subtle and different.

This weekend I replaced my dashboard. It had a large wrinkle when I got it from the previous owner and it triggered my OCD every time I got in it.

Whole thing took about 15-18 hours, most of that time was spent scratching my head, remembering where I put "that tool", or cursing, or washing blood off the back of my hands. It was a frightening experience. In terms of DIY, I'm a wizard with IKEA; nothing mechanical. This project was like a gigantic, high-stakes, confusing knockoff of IKEA.

But im glad I did it! I feel much closer to my car. And I cleared any rattles while I was in there (minus to two screws I dropped which will probably rattle forever).

Thanks! I was blissfully ignorant prior to starting. It quickly became a "fight or flight" situation — like, shockingly quickly. I just had to keep going, out of pure fear and adrenaline. But, prior to starting, had I known what I was really in for, there's not a chance I would have done it myself.

But it's very comforting knowing what's back there and how it all ties together. And that if I absolutely needed to, like if it turned out that there were a bunch of diamonds hidden behind my dash, I could, hypothetically, get back there again.

please.. leave my drinking outa this, will ya?

oh.. HIM!

ok ok back OT. i drove through copious amounts of SoCal gravel, rocks, and small boulders today left by our infrequent yet welcomed SoCal rainstorms.. so as to further chip my car for the next owner. ( not that i'll live to meet them LOL )

if you're gonna chip your paint for fun? the santa monica mountains are the place to do it

i'm thinking of acquiring a new 911s. but then i'll have to airlift it down the hill. i ain't rock chippin that sh*t lol

FWIW, the Schnell tips are slightly smaller diameter than the factory X54 tips and looked too "little" when I put them on the car (compared to the originals). I had bought a set of the Schnells to replace the poor condition originals on my car, and was disappointed that they were smaller. Ended up finding a suitable replacement set of used factory tips and was able to sell the Schnells.

I finally got around to fitting the painted bumperettes from BumperPlugs that my son got me for Christmas.
Not quite as dramatic an improvement as you get on a lighter colored car, but a nice facelift (rearlift? buttlift? ) nonetheless.
