brilliantly compatible, oft over looked and inexpensive suspension upgrade from stock and not near the prices of a full coiover setup. well thought out.

will do exactly same ( well essentially have as b8's and mo30's
are pretty darn close in terms of capability..) ( minus all the front bits as they are all new as my H&R springs once ( if ever lol ) my mo30's no longer dampen sufficiently.

sorry about that spot. THAT looks painful and uneasily remedied good luck.

again, great mid level + price choice on the suspension tho...

^ Thanks!

Yeah I don't track my car and for daily driving that setup is a huge upgrade over stock. I typically choose good strut + springs, over coil-overs from my daily driven cars.

4 new b8 struts on sale from ajusa.com cost me $840
H&R springs on sale from ecstuning $230

OEM top mounts ($450 total) and bearings ($90 total) is a must when redoing the fronts.

I wish I could have gotten mo30 instead of h&r. They are slightly higher then h&r and I would have preferred that, but mo30 are no where to be found these days.

BTW, after some layers of wax, that burnt spot looks like:

nah, you did great price wise too. again kudos.

for mo30's..? gert at carnewal. elephant or luftenick come to mind. sometimes, but theyre harder than ever to find you're right since they are so old school and a holdover from the A/C car days. i LOVE em though..

my overall and very low stance is... fageddaboudit

either way you killed it. no muss no fuss. gl on that spot. once they're burned in? well, i'm not gonna bum ya out. cheers keep working it.

New front swaybar endlinks and a new windshield cowl cover. If you have 60k+ miles, I would recommend replacing the sway links. Used Lemforder brand links and was extremely happy with the rattle free front suspension!

Not today actually but on Saturday I attended the Redmond Exotics event. Pic of my car where I got placed is attached. I got the employee of the month parking space while at the show 8 ) Afterwards I installed the solid motor mounts. The car is way too quiet compared to my track version

I was just arriving to RTC as you were pulling out.. Car looks very nice! I'd be interested in your thoughts/opinions on driving around with the solid mounts, or if you are ever at RTC again and wouldn't mind to allow me to check them out. I was thinking to go with semi-solids, but I've had a few people mention to just go full solid and be done with it.

Thanks!

I believe there is a Porsche focus day in a couple weeks (July actually). This was only my second time so I haven't dialed in times/events etc. T10Chris, I'll let you know next time I'm going. Currently I have the car up on stands to change the coils/plugs; hopefully back on the road by Saturday.

I have the semi-solids on my track version (see Avatar) and they perform well (very much better than worn OEM). I decided to put the solids in the DD. I can always swap with the grey but that would require more stands than I possess currently 8 )

Is there much difference that you can tell between the solids and semis?

I was doing coils/plugs last week... I know that feeling

looks great, but you sure pay a premium for that fvd logo! raid/atwie makes em, cheaper without the fvd logo. still look s great! nice choice.

I got it used so I didn't have to swallow that pill. That is good information to pass on if anyone asks though!
Shawn

Quick google and you weren't joking lol...same exact wheel. It looks like I got it about 100$ cheaper than the raid wheel and adapter. So crazy how a little sticker can change the price of something... Almost like a Porsche vs Vw part.

First mod... Smoked side markers. Gotta love appearance mods that take 5 min. Ordered a fabspeed exhaust to go with.

New owner with only two weeks of ownership thus far, so I'm catching up on the PO's, what I will call politely, deferred maintenance.

PO informed me the car had its K&N filter already installed when he bought the car 5 years ago. I'm not a huge fan of oil treated filters, so the plan was to remove the K&N, replace the oil tainted MAF, clean up the air box, and then install a new Mahle paper filter.

Here's what a K&N filter looks like when it hasn't been cleaned and re-oiled in probably well over 5 years:

I removed the MAF; here's the inlet pipe with the MAF removed:

After removing the MAF sensor, I wiped clean the inside of the tube to remove the nasty oil mist from the K&N filter:

The new MAF meter is a Bosch aftermarket part. Even so, it has the Porsche part number on it as well:

Once the cleaning was finished, I installed the MAF sensor, the air filter, and then reassembled and reinstalled the air box. Let there be fresh, clean air feeding the X50.
