I can't hear my rattle over the sound of my lightweight flywheel.

I was kind of kidding! but truth be told. What minimal rattle I ever DID hear, is further quieted by my also using M1 5-50. I'd never use any other oil now, though I have. As to the lwfw chatter. I regret not going LWFW on my recent clutch refresh.

I haven't done anything to the 996 lately besides drive it, but it did acquire a new roommate:

This was a strong nostalgia buy for for me. A 1G Talon TSi is the reason I'm into cars to this day.

I'm pretty stoked on it. It's '91 TSi AWD with a 5-speed. 75k original miles and totally stock and unmolested. Freshly rebuilt transmission with new clutch, new timing belt, fresh fluids, new tires, and comes with a mountain of spare parts. Overall, it's super clean and all there. The paint is obviously trashed (it always is on these), but the body is straight with no rust. The interior is also 99% complete, though the front seats are pretty much destroyed from old age (the foam in them didn't age well and they're falling apart).

It's gonna be a fun project. Plan is to restore it with some period-correct bolt-on upgrades. Not going for crazy power, just want to bump it up to around 300hp or so to be a really fun cruiser and canyon ripper.

Not today, but over the last month I ordered all new suspension components for my car. Jesus that got expensive quickly, even getting some things on the second hand market...

But hey, boost tube were nett zero...

I was pretty shocked what the upper mounts from tarrett were, but as with all their stuff, I'm really happy with it.

What are you going with?

You are lucky you live out in the PNW. That car looks amazing!

A maaco paint job and some new interior bits and it will be like new.

"period correct"

MHI Big 16G Turbocharger 49178-01420 – Forced Performance

or go w/ the GREEN

FP GREEN for DSM – Forced Performance

you can make a very quick car with a few boltons!

300hp is fairly easy, if memory serves.

Are bolt ons still available for that, or do you have to graft on Mitsubishi parts?

Wouldn't it be nice if Porsche turbos were that economical....

When it's to your specs, I'll bring the STI down and we can find some roads.

What gets me is all the secret sauce in this community but look, I get it. Most of the people who drive these cars are well-to-do and highly educated and have no issues forking out the big bucks for parts/service.

Luckily I actually found a tuner overseas who is familiar with these ECUs and TCUS and has been cooking up fast audis and 992 turbos so I think I may just go that route after I get my somewhat special k16 hybrids built.

I wouldn't say I was highly educated...

But, I most certainly know how to spend money.

LOL! I fall into both those categories (dumb as a box of rocks and really can spend money) and I am not all that "well to do". I do own 2 P-cars (and another one the way). Not really smart at all, but I just love the marque.
