WoW, and here I thought at page 5 it was bad enough.

Lets see where to begin, ok first off Hemann7 is someone I never met in my life before the Malibu run. And frankly never even got a chance to really introduce my self because of my friends misshap on that cruise, which ended my day after the first section. So I have no one to defend or anyone to support on this topic.

First, Hemann7 is not the one acting childish from all the posts he has been getting picked on by many people and from what I have read the XTRC or whatever guy began the foolish personal insults. I believe that a race between you two through the roads would be very good and should be a timed race rather than a wheel to wheel, that way no accidents can occur. If this race does happen please let us know I would love to bet some money on Hemann7's whale of a car.

Second, Hemann7 your comments on the sub 20k cars was harsh and not really called for. Just because there are a few guys that fit this catagory does not mean they all feel the same way.

Third, as I posted earlier Hemann7 did drive with the 996 TT and GT2's through the canyon, and he did so without a problem from my view.

What would happen if say the road was more like sunset? Easy he would get left behind in 10 seconds. But on this perticular road where speeds hardly ever exceeded 60 and turn in speed was around 20-30 he was more than able to hold his own.

Lastly,

If you dont believe me fine, I dont give a damn what you believe. But there were about 100 people on the Malibu run that saw it happen.

PS. Hemann7 I was the guy in the Silver Viper 3 cars behind you. And I have two words for all you guys, tire temp. You guys started that run from cold to full bore in 5 seconds, I was waiting for the first crash to occur in the first few turns. And sure enough it happened with my friends 993.

First off, I was born in Pennsylvania, have lived in Europe (CH...that's Switzerland), New Hampshire, Missouri and now Northern KY. I hold a Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh (3.5/4.0 GPA) as well as an MBA from Xavier University here in Cincinnati (3.3/4.0 GPA). I have successfully passed the EIT exam and could easily apply for a P.E. licence any time I want to... I don't even recall what my SAT scores were, but I don't think they matter now. Trust me, my education, skill level and integrity isn't in question here. I've designed machinery and mechanisms that would make your head spin just trying to figure out how they work. Oh yes, and I also hold one United States Patent. You were the one who brought up education...

So, why don't you enlighten us with your education and accomplishments?

I do have all of my teeth, except for the 4 wisdom teeth in the back I had pulled. Again, you were the one who brought up teeth...

My point was this:

I am sick and tired of listening to the BMW rich- boy crap attitude, as well as watching people rave over how much money they spent on their car. You certainly fit the mold of the modern Porsche buyer. Congratulations. Do you really think we are all impressed to hear how much parts cost for your Bimmer (or do you call it a Beamer like the other yuppies out there)? In case you wondered, Bimmer is the proper term.

Talk is cheap. If you had any sack at all, you would back up your claims with a scheduled race (in a safe and legal place) as was presented to you. Talking about how fast you might be in an expensive car is also cheap, even cheaper. If you can afford such toys, why not drive them to the limit? Or as Carlos would say "Are you afraid of chipping a tooth?"

I'm done with this childish post, I'm ashamed I have even stooped this low..., but I felt it necessary to defend myself.

You should not even bring up Gay Lovers, as Calafornia probably has a higher percentage than any other state. So who is the Bigot anyway?

Well said RWHP.

Sorry if I offended some of you guys with the sub-$20K car comments. I just don't know why I got picked on all of a sudden.

About the tire temps, I think I got my tires heated pretty quickly. The Potenza S-03's, due to their very soft compound, tend to heat up after a few corners at speed.

According to your buddy that crashed, he told me that he simply came into the corner too fast. I'm not too sure warmer tires would have helped too much. I hope his car has been fixed already, it was a really beautiful piece of work and all of us were grieving at the loss of that turbo front bumper.

Then again, at least he didn't have major damage or any kind of injury. Thank god...

BTW, your other friend's silver 993 is a crazy *** car. In a straight line, that thing throws flames like a Le Mans car!

Johnny boy... no need to give us your curriculum vitae, that's resume to you...

But since you asked, BA with Honors from The University of Chicago, graduated in 2.5 years, with partial completion of the MBA program at the Graduate School of Business there.

Last time I checked, Chicago was a Top 10 national university. They took me early even though my SAT score was only a 1420.

Started out as a communications, media, entertainment investment banker. Ran 2 software companies as chief marketing guy. Personally handled over $100 million in private equity transactions alone. Consulted to Liberty Media, etc. etc.

Now I am managing member of a real estate investment bank and head of financial services for a national Top 25 commercial real estate entity.

I'm sorry if my career and education don't quite match yours. Oh well, I guess I will have to live with the inferiority complex of being in the yuppie category.

FYI, according to what I've heard, Bimmer is used to BMW cars, Beamer is used for the bikes.

As I promised to Ruiner, I'm not going to thrash anybody anymore. This has gone on too long and I've got money to make to go towards my P-car!

Wow... I can't decide if I want this to end or not. That's terrible, I know, but its fun to come back twice a day and take in another chapter. Like a good soap opera. People hurl attacks at each other, occasionally there is a rational post thrown in by an on-looker...etc.

On the other had, I'd like to say something about the original original post. Personally, I think 0-60 times are boring. And, horror of horrors, I find match race 1/4's pretty dull as well. Porsche will never come close to being a street champion in contests like these, it is silly to even try. I like F1 a lot more than drag racing. So why is it people are shocked if a TT gets its *** kicked by a modified honda civic running nos?

Hemann7,

The yellow 993 should be coming back from the paint shop by the end of this week. And hopefully its owner is going to remember NOT to hit the brakes on a rear engine car when the back starts coming around.

That silver 993 was at a dyno a few days before that cruise and put down 890hp to the wheels, and over 730lb's torque. For those of you that dont know that means about 1000 hp at the crank.

Hey Dean,

With all the banter back and forth, perhaps you have enough material to develop a new TV show for cable. Maybe good for the Speed Channel to boost some ratings. It would be a talk show for late night audiences.

Here is the pitch: WWE Wrestling meets The Best Damn Sports Show meets Motorweek. People gathered on couches with different cars bashing each other left and right. Or better yet, one guy getting bashed on by 5 other guys, while callers call in to back up the one guy getting picked on.

This thread probably gets more views than some shows on cable TV, so who knows, the network just might buy it, and it's cheap to produce!

No worries in that respect. Everyone has their opinions and are free to express them.

HOWEVER, this is getting out of hand (and I refuse to point fingers as everyone is entitled to express their own theories)...

And you will have to pardon my language here, but this is not some ****ing Honda Civic Ricer board that puts stickers all over their cars. I would like to think that we are more refined than this. This is a VERY upscale and elite board in many respects. Hell, I've been here for a few months, but I am able to grasp the board's 'clientele' rather easily. Whether it be BMW, Porsche, etc etc etc, we all here share a common love for Porsches (and other nice, German cars). I don't really see many trolls on this board. It isn't like we are going around trying to race 120hp Acura Integras or contest with 17yr olds that think that the Type R is the end-all-be-all of the automotive world.

I understand that there are differences and disagreements. However, a 9 page thread on something this mundane is ridiculous. If I could, I would gladly lock this thread if I could. Not because of the arguing, but because things should just be dropped after a few opinions have been expressed. This is going on and on with no resolution.

I have my beliefs on which cars perform better and others have their own. Beliefs have been expressed and it should just be dropped as nothing is getting resolved.

We should all respond to the 996TT vs Viper video post.

Hamann7(was version 6 this goofy?) doesn't need to prove anything to people who flame him without having seen him drive or how well he knows the roads.

That explains his posts perfectly.

To dear: Hamamm7 I’m back…., did you really think I was going to leave you alone, not at all, you exist because of me, I’m going to give you some extra motivation to continue being the jerk the you have portrayed in this forum. I’m against bashing on someone because they are foreigners or immigrants who lack of English grammar, But Wilber if you are going to talk low, at least learn how to say it right. Now going back to Homoron7 or whatever may be your login name, I was checking your pedigree that’s curriculum vitae for you, it’s not that bad. Regarding my self I’m a computer science college teacher. I have earn a master degree in computer science and I’m currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Education. That’s why I can play with weak-minded fools like you. Now about the race between you and I, do you have what it takes? This is not the going around the mulberry bush (with the Malibu kids) that you are used to. Set time and date if you have the testicular fortitude, I warn you, no foul playing. This is man-to-man stuff, no surprises also. No profanity, I can’t tolerate people (with your level of education, not intelligence) talking like thugs, if you play with fire, pretty soon you will get burned. All I want is for you to show me the fabulous driving skills that you claim to possess. You defeat me I will post a topic apologizing for my big mouth, you will be redeemed.
One more thing going back to what you said:

“you are the type of buyer who is stupid enough to buy a Cadillac "sports sedan," the STS. You wanna talk about a piece of ****?”

My 02 STS costs as much as your 740, just check for yourself, actually is not even mine I’m leasing it. What you said about the 951, don’t bother me it’s just your plain ignorance, but what you said about an American car, yes it matters to me, you have guts to say those things about American products, here in a public forum, I acquired my Caddy because I support this Nation, the labor, and pride that represents, unlike poor souls like you, not let’s see if you dare to say anything else about American products, remember a lot of people are watching they know where you hang, where you live. Don’t be stupid! These are times when we need to support our nation, have a little more patriotism, the last thing America needs is terrorists amid our communities. People who despise our national products, what are you doing here?

xtrc, I really don't want to continue this bashing, so I will try to exercise some restraint and instead make this an intellectual discussion.

Of course my cv isn't bad, I doubt you went to even one institution that is on the same plane as where I went or else you would have been bragging about it. You boast about your master's or Ph.D. in Education even though no one frankly asked you about it-- and geez, you can get one of those part-time at the prestigious University of Phoenix or Pepperdine. And that's fine, but don't try to "flex" your intellectual prowess like you are in the elite category.

And unless you bought your Caddy in Japan, an '02 STS is not $72,000. You new STS is only the same price as my car with a lot of miles on it and a couple of years older. Equal cars they do not make.

You can threaten me all you like and call me unpatriotic or a terrorist. It's people like you that give Americans a bad name all over the world. I love your not-so-subtle threats to my personal safety, it's quite amusing, really.

Fact is you bought a Cadillac that is clearly inferior in almost every way to a Lexus LS, Mercedes S-Class, Audi A8, or BMW 7-series (E38 or E65). Please show me one magazine review, article, or any documentation that shows otherwise. I'll buy American cars when they can engineer them like the Germans. Until then, we live in a so-called free market, so I'll buy what I like... isn't that my right as an American citizen?

You are a fine example of a third rate education. Are you a product of some community college? I have no problem engaging in conversation or debate with people who haven't had the privilege or opportunity of a top notch education as long as they've supplemented themselves with some kind of academic conditioning.... If you are in this category, then at least be an auto-didact and learn something, or read some books! You lack intellectual depth or even straight line reasoning. Perhaps that is why you aren't actually working at a top software company or teaching at a prestigious university? Don't worry, it's not too late, you can still learn and be a lifelong student like some people I know.

So, let's analyze your beautiful line of logical reasoning: I don't like Cadillacs, therefore I am unpatriotic, and thus I must be a terrorist. Ummmm... ever heard of the terms "non-sequitur" coupled with the classic "slippery slope," or did they not teach you that where you went to school?

Gosh, it concerns me that you are actually teaching our future technology workforce. Could this be why the dominant work force in Silicon Valley comes from India, most notably IIT? Or other countries in general? If we had smarter people actually teaching our techies properly, the INS wouldn't have to issue so many H-1 visas, now would they?

Then you say that people are watching me and know where I live and imply that they will harm me because I don't like your ****ty Caddy. You are indeed very funny. You don't even know me and now you want to make this personal.

Are you really stupid enough to believe that your Cadillac dollars are supporting the American economy? All you're doing is lining the pockets of greedy GM shareholders, pension funds, mutual funds, and arbiteurs of the capital markets. And the Dow still closed at barely above 8000 today.

I can tell you have no idea how the economy really works in the age of NAFTA and globalization. You are obviously under the impression that all American cars are 100% American parts and American made. This is definitely not true. Many of GM and Ford's manufacturing is done in Mexico and Canada, and use foreign parts, just like foreign cars use some American parts.

You also probably think that somehow your purchases create new jobs, right? Uh huh... and that's why GM lays off employees even in years with record earnings to increase their profit margins, and boost share prices when their quarterly earnings announcement comes up. Ever seen the Michael Moore movie, "Roger and Me"?

Maybe if you actually understood the way publicly traded companies work, you'd actually make more money and get over your inferiority complex.

And about the race, we can set something up at Willow Springs or something this year if that is what you want. But if I never met you, I could live with that too. I try to limit my social circle to people of quality and I don't see where I could fit you into my schedule at the moment.

Sure have been, I am can say from experience that the 7series, although very big and heavy, is a damn fast car. Not just in a straight line either.... Now can it keep up with a 996TT with equal drivers? Of course not, and everyone seems to agree on that. But for a large sedan the handling is very impressive. Actually last time there was a guy in a diesel 5 series, he was hauling ***! Drifting around corners and all...

For sedans BMW has some awesome cars, my parents just bought a new 525i, very nice handling car. I tried to conviced my mom that she needed the 540, she thought the 525 was fast enough...

You know what is interesting, us poor unedumacayted boyz on the 944 board never argue quit like this. Maybe since we have our cheap cars and can't afford shoes we would rather not bother with it.

Seriously though, I couldn't imagine being about to go out and spend $150k-$200k on a car. That is just insane!! Maybe one day

Oh yeah,
