I am done with arguing with you guys. I already made my peace with some of you, and I'll leave it at that.

Manny, I never said anything derogatory towards you, so why start now? I only explained my credentials because I was ASKED to. You can call me an average joe... to each his own. Enjoy your C4S-- it's a nice car.

Hamman7, you were asking for flames when you said, "But any track or canyon, I'll take on your 964 with my 740i... and show you what inferior BMW engineering can do!" , and you got more than you bargained for.

To compound the problem, you've insulted the 944 guys as well - some of the nicest and most knowledgable people on this website. I even feel slightly insulted, as I am a complete Porsche fanatic and they've yet to build one that I wouldnt want to own. I'm a fan of the marque first, and the models second.

If you refrain from insulting Porsches on this board you'll get along famously with everyone.

Yes, the comment was directed at one person, not a group.

The 944 guys got insulted only after they started ripping on my car.

I like Porsches too, but not all of them. Just like I like BMWs, but not all of them. Just like I like Ferraris, but not all of them. Does everything have to be so absolute?

I did not go flaming 944s on the 944 forum, or 964's on the 964 forum. I participate on this particular forum because many of these guys are my friends and are valuable resources as I decide what to do for my next car. Why do I have to appease 944 and 964 owners on a 996TT board?

But I am done with the fighting. Life is too short, and I'd rather go driving.

I`ll have you know that I have a double first at Oxford polytechnique ( which last time I looked was near one of the top ten universities in the world) in english language, business studies and psychiatry. My C.V. ( which is a list of jobs you`ve been fired from for you) includes a stint at the Bank of England where I personaly looked at the entire national debt of the UK, so clearly I cannot be taught anything about driving. Just last week I had no trouble keeping up with a Murceilago with a driver who is smooth and fast, and I have friends to back me up on this, in my Nissan 1.6i (people often underestimate this car but, in estate form, in the hands of a truly gifted driver, such as myself,it`s a phenomanal car). I have driven this route since I was a twinkle in my fathers eye and I doubt if anyone is faster, don`t forget the key advantage here is the driver. I will smoke that primitive 964 of yours on this road anytime. How you have the nerve to post on a porsche forum owning that mongrelised "modified" POS is beyond me. A porsche is a porsche and that bastardised POS should be driven into the nearest fiord. You`re good at being tough on these forums but lets face it, we all know what tangerines are for.
Anyway I don`**** to argue anymore.
But I guess you just don`t have a sense of humour do you?

I just finished reading everything in this thread. Sad to see people are bashing others because they dont have as expensive cars as others do. To a lot of people, choosing a car doesnt neccessarly mean it has to make them look good or it has to have superb engineering. Each to his own in taste and if you don't like it then just dont mention it at all. Hamann7, I dont own a 944 or 951 or 928 but I look at those cars and see it just as i see every other porsche. Probably cause I am a big porsche fan but making people feel that they are low just because they don't have a $70K or more car is just childish.
I cant help it but in reply to this here:

quote:
Originally posted by Hamann7:

Please show me one magazine review, article, or any documentation that shows otherwise. I'll buy American cars when they can engineer them like the Germans. Until then, we live in a so-called free market, so I'll buy what I like... isn't that my right as an American citizen?

A cadillac is still a luxury car brand just like mercedes, bmw, lexus, and just because it is an american car doesn't mean it is a piece of ****. The BMW X5 is made in america. Is that SUV a piece of ****? nope infact its one of the best SUVs around in my opinion. German engineering isnt the greatest thing to everyone. Sometimes people actually pick an american car over a german car because thats what they prefer. In september I bought a 2002 t-bird for 4K more then a bmw 330ci. To a lot of people that was a stupid choice but to me thats a better choice. Each to his own i guess but you get the point

This board has a lot of ***** entension owners (braggers), you know who you are too. To top it off these braggers as I call them have slow cars (slugs) I don't get that. I going to go take a nice sunday ride.

Another ridiculous and nonsense post by Curious George. You say some of the dumbest things I have ever heard. Do you actually read the things you write? What a moron!

Good luck,
Manny

P.S. Are you still driving the POS Monster? I thought I told you to light that POS on fire. Some people never listen.

hey hamman7

according to your vast knoweledge of porsches you state that the 964 is primitive. do me a favor, when you do get your gt2 look at the part number on the crankcase. it is a 964 crankcase. now shut the hell up because you don't know ****.also i'm sure wilbur can defend himself. but he shuold not have been teased by somone that does not know him.

p.s. ive owned a porsche for ten years and ive never joined the pca because i dont like dealing with ****** like h7.

uh huh... what was i thinking, of course since they share a couple of parts, they must be the same car.

in fact, it is the current Turbo that must be primitive compared to the 964 C4's since it doesn't have the 959-derived electronic variable differential, right? oh yes, the 964 is the best 911 ever made. it even looks better than the 993. hands down. happy now?

like i said, i am tired of fighting over this. obviously, you didn't get catch my drift in the first place... oh well. c'est la vie.
