Thanks, guys! As soon as I got up this morning, I had to go outside and make sure I didn't just dream that the car was back.

Jake, I assume that you are fine with me posting your pictures here, once you've had the case split? Rebecca has been great to work with, very detail-oriented and organized.

Here are some pictures of Jake's new paperweight. I took a few more of the hole so that you can see where it is in relation to the IMSB and chain.

I could be mistaken, but I don't think that "window" in the block is supposed to be there...

Correct, you are mistaken. It's the IMSB Inspection Port. If your car doesn't have one, well, good luck.....

Damn Cuda. Now I see the problem.

It obviously killed itself out of shame for being that dirty! Did you never drop the engine on the recommended weekly interval to clean it? Poor thing!

looks more like the timing chain inspection port... But yours is missing the cover!

A bit of JB-weld and that case will go another 70,000 miles... :-)

When I see the engine like that it does make me wonder how on earth it fits in the car... Maybe the 911 engine bay is like the Tardis: bigger on the inside?

I am always amazed at how big these motors look when out of the car. I am happy to hear you get to keep on driving!
