Someone with a 40th AE with blown engine due to IMS failure $23k or best offer on eBay.

What's a new engine cost 14-19K? Maybe a good candidate for a Raby built engine.
It is #657 btw.
There is also a functioning one on eBay at a Porsche dealer too - 38.9K. They said they did the IMS. Obviously that is their asking price, because they both have make offers available, but I think I would rather get a 997.

Holy cow - what a coincidence.
So the dealership took the haircut, not a customer if I am understanding what happened correctly.
I would like to have my a 40th AE again - I miss mine. I am going to send them an offer I know they will refuse, just to see - who knows, maybe they will take it and I will put it on my Visa and save it for a future Raby engine :-)

Thanks Jake.
I really like the 40th, but to make the numbers work with a new engine & the shipping charges from the auction to me, and then shipping the car to you and back and still pay a fair market value he would have to sell that rolling chassis to me for $7000. Offer declined by the seller of course - he is better parting it out instead of taking my offer, plus he has the sting of the 20K haircut (or whatever the true haircut was on the trade-in price).
I think I was being very impulsive - I can get like that :-)
