Hi All 40th Anniv. Folks (former handle Spock04)
Just turned 189,000 on my 911 #1374. Same stock IMS bearing and clutch.
Looking a bit sandblasted in front, but still a beauty. Did the Tail of the Dragon twice last sunday
on my last road trip. Have had the car for three years this summer.

Steve - you are my idol ;-)

I have a long way to go to catch your mileage but someday I'll get there. Love seeing someone driving and enjoying such a great car!

Steve,

Your an inspiration to all 996 owners, good chance you will be the first 40th owner to hit 200k miles!

Keep the updates coming, maybe see you at Cars & Coffee next weekend

Steve - I tried to PM you with a question but you may not have enough posts since after changing your forum name you're now considered a "new user". Please email me so that I can reply with my question. Thanks.

That is fantastic! I love seeing higher mile examples of these cars running around. I'd be ecstatic if I'm able to put that many miles on my car. Here's to many more happy miles.

Great! I've got a ways to go to catch you on my 04 C4S. I guess I'll have to do two or more grand road trips across the USA. Cheers, and your 40th looks great.

Ok, I guess I'm being Mr. Obvious today, but isn't that miles to empty, not MPG?

Well, yes, but sort of the same thing?

He has 300 to go, he has surely done 100 or more from a full tank to the current point.

When I fill my tank, the miles to empty is around 330.

Actually as I look at the tach, he's running much lower RPM than I do. I'm usually cruising near 3600-4000 most of the time.

I wonder if its illegal to take pictures with a cell when driving

Cheers, Paul

Hello
The car still gets 28-30 MPG @2800 RPM in cruise control. I do a lot of testing at different speeds to see where the best MPG occurs. Good gas is a major factor. MN has pretty bad gas, but out east and west, they have much better gas. The other day I gased up with Sonoco and got over 525 miles out of a tank.

Hello
Here's a shot looking east on hwy 50 (the loneliest highway in America) in the middle of Nevada.
No traffic, no cell service, no speed limit, no cops, just beautiful.

Hello
Tried taking foto @ 140 mph, too shakey, too scary one handed.
