Hello
Just turned 153,000 on my 911 #1374, can't stop driving, everyday thrill.
having issues with the oil pressure gauge, at idle, hot engine, low oil warning light comes on and off briefly.
I have heard this is common? easy replacement?
thanks
steve

Common, but a little tricky when I researched. The funny thing is, this comes and goes... mine stopped misbehaving so I forgot it pulled this trick. When I replace the plugs, I'll probably replace this too.

Default Back from loooong Rennlist absence...

Hello Fellow Rennlisters and 40th Anniversary owners -

I've been gone from Rennlist for a long while... Recent new job that has me traveling like crazy is to blame

But nevertheless I still have my 40th and love the machine just like since day one when new... about 9 years ago...

And just wanted to share that my car represented our 40th Anniversary brotherhood and model year 2004 very well during the California Festival of Speed's commemoration of the 50 Years of 911.

My car is the silver one in the middle towards the back...

And I want to extend a special thank you to TAZ40JAHRE, for putting together that wonderful registry list for us. Outstanding!

Default Welcome back!

Fast40th - welcome back! I have always admired your car and the awards that it has won. I'm glad to hear that she's still in your stable and that she is still representing the marque so well!

PS - for the rest of the group, here is a link to an article about the Cal. Festival of Speed that Fast40th mentioned: http://digitaldtour.com/category/porsche-930-turbo/

Thank you!!!...

I was missing this place and it's great to see a continued enthusiasm for these beautiful limited editions within old and relatively new owners.

Here's a little more eye candy of my 40th while on a road trip trough Utah... I guess there's a very cool parking spot under one of the arches at Zion National Park...

Default 40th Anniversary 996 next to a 50th Anniversary 991

Parked next to a 50th Anniversary 991 this morning and took a quick picture! Need to track down the owner and maybe take some better pictures. Thought I'd share this one though.

First one I see in person, must say pictures don't do this car justice. It is a work of art!

Hello everyone. Just wanted to let you know I traded my 40th (#418) for a new Cayman, so I won't frequent the 996 forum anymore. It's been very enjoyable. I loved my 996, but it's time to move on. Cheers.

Wish you the best with your new car. If you don't mind saying, what dealership did you trade your 40AE to? I'd like to be able to track it for the registry. Thanks, and, again, enjoy that new car!

Great side by side! This may be the first posting of these two beasts together. Well worth parking next to it for a photo op. :-)

Thanks very much for the info! I've updated the registry with no. 0651.

I've had some great success lately locating a number of cars, so for those of you who haven't checked out the registry in a while it's worth a look. Probably the most noteworthy 40AE owner on the Soloporsche board (Spain) recently contacted me with his car's number, and also gave me 5 different entries from the listing of cars without numbers that all were his car! That really helped. Again - thanks 6ta1, and everyone else please don't hesitate to post or PM me with info on cars that aren't on the registry. I really appreciate all the help.

Following on your good fortune of getting a pic of your 40th with a 50th, check out these pics from Hong Kong of a 30th, 40th & 50th together. Assembling these 3 generations of anniversary cars is quite an achievement and resulted in some terrific photos: http://flickrhivemind.net/Tags/964/Recent

Looks like I am going to have to part with my 2004 40AE 911. Just put in a new clutch with flywheel, RMS and LN IMS bearing. It is #0225 and has all of the normal 40AE equipment plus PSM, full leather, Bose stereo, 6 disc CD changer, car cover and tinted windows. The car is in excellent condition with only 42,850 miles. If you are interested, email me at chomp40@hotmail.com for pictures etc. Price is $36,950.
