Not surprising that the GTR weighs 3,800 pounds - it's GINORMOUS compared to the NSX, or most true sports cars. Kinda a poor man's Bugatti approach to performance - just load up a pig with lots of power.

After seeing the GTR and NSX side by side I have to reevaluate my earlier opinion. I've never seen a car that looks like a muscle car, but handles and accelerates like a world class sports car....

Its freaky, really it is. That isn't natural...

(or to look quite as nice IMHO)
All speculation. Their has been GTRs driving around with aftermarket wheels and tires. They also claim that nothing smaller than an 20" wheel will fit on the GTR... But 18's DO fit over those huge 6-piston monoblock calipers on the GTR.

The GTR is a cool car and fun to drive. It has nearly R-compound tires from the factory, so given equal tires and equal power (GTR is ~ 480 WHEEL hp -not crank), I think you will have a much different outcome in many of the recent comparisons.

With AWD don't you usually estimate 25% drivetrain loss? That would put the car at well over 600hp at the crank.

You can't generalize drivetrain loss, their are far too many variables between different makes and models, heck, even the same model cars will have varying drivetrain loss and power levels. Different tire models (weight, diameter, etc...) different wheels (weight, diameter), engine oils, tranny oils, etc... are all variables for drivetrain loss.

GTRs have dynoed at 450-480whp. Regardless, its far above the listed "480 crank".

I got a test;

take my 24 yr old FI technology 911 with a single turbo, and run it against the GTR. I have PSS9's, strut tower brace, and bigger sways. 447whp. With the same tires, etc.,

I bet my car could take it............muhahaha That my friend is respect.
