I have been watching this tread and I can not tell you how much I love this.It reminds me of the classic underdog story, I am glad you gave that P-car a second chance Its a great looking car and I hope you enjoy the fruits of your labor.Simply one word to describe this.......Awsome....

(I have owned several british cars...no offense intended to any Super 7 owners)
Great job and agree with you on British models. My dad and I built a 57 MK 1 or 11 cant remember Jaguar and he loved the car and said the car when driving gave him the feel of being connected to the road, but I used to say that's because we where always pushing it. PS If you run by a good low mileage engine 2000-01 give me a PM still looking.

I hope everybody is enjoying the game and the hangovers tomorrow aren't too bad. My wife & kids pitched in this afternoon and helped me install the doors. My wife is happy to have them out of the living room. We drove the car aound the neighborhood. It runs great. I still have to get a part before I install the dash cover. The door locks, windows, mirrors, and alarm all work fine.

I took a bunch of pictures...it looks like a real car now instead of a crispy critter.
Thanks again for all the encouragement guys. The help and kind words here have been fantastic. There were plenty of times when I thought I got myself in over my head. I still have several things left to do; however, being able to drive it now really helps with the motivation. Time to start pricing new windshields.

Mother, I'll keep an eye out for your engine. CP, don't all your neighbors offer to wash your car when you drive by? Redridge, I think the aero kit installation will have to wait for a little while...until my bank account recovers from this project.

Great job Mark!
My offer is still open to run all the rest of the computer checks when you want.

Steve, thanks. I hope you are recovering fast and having fun shopping for your next Porsche. The C4S cab you posted was gorgeous. I can't wait to see what you end up with.
Rolla, thanks. I am looking forward to installing the aero kit. If it looks half as good as Redridge's car, I will be thrilled.
Loren, thank you. As soon as I get everything else done, I will take you up on your generous offer. Maybe this time, I can bring the car to you.
Blinkwatt, thanks for the info. That is way less than I expected to pay. I wish that I could remember who did the install on my previous 996...they did a great job and were careful with my paint.
Redridge, thanks. I hope you bet some money on your team.
Zoolander, thank you.

Mark: You must have put the doors on afterI left. I had my camera, but wanted to wait till you had the doors on then get a picture of you sitting in it....your moment of glory. It looks so nice....makes me nostalgic....

bmartini, I can't believe you read the whole saga...thank you. Congratulations on your new (to you) 996. It sounds like you got a great deal. I really enjoyed my tiptronic 996, especially in traffic.
Tim and Chuck, thanks. Chuck, hopefully we can do a run up Salmon falls soon. Your TT looked great today. Check Tailwag's recent post regarding the vibration in your clutch pedal.
