Ultimate Integrated Dry Sump UIDS v2.2
#601
Hey Proschetech3!
this is just amazing! I lost my 986 S's first engine to in 2010 and then replaced the original 3.2 with a 3.6 with what was at the time one of the first 7.2-7.8 swaps in the US. That engine started eating oil and ticking in 2014 and I parked it. The car at that point had seen some 10,000 track miles (Hoosiers, PSSS9s, etc). I am finally getting back to it after life got in the way and after reading this and zbomb's thread before it, I just can't say how awesome this is! Glad I found this before I pulled the trigger on the deep slump kit! I had a accusump, but as discussed here it never worked more than once.
Your website seems to have orders active again, just was curious if that was active before placing one?

I haven't turned the order button back on yet. Been having supply/manufacturing delays, employee problems ect., and also my brain won't stop finding ways to improve things. But George is on it, and once we get these initial ones delivered, I will turn the order button back on..

Question that I haven’t seen answered. The only difference between your 986/987 UIDS and the 996 unit is orientation, correct? Since I have a 996 3.6 in my 986, I assume I still need the 986/987 unit, correct?

If you want to make a sump/pickup as inexpensively as possible to fit both fore and aft orientations, you put the pick-up in the center and surround it with baffles hoping to keep the oil in. But this has proven not effective as reports show pressure loss on hard braking. An optimized location for each would have been better, but would require two different versions.
As we know a Porsche will create 3-4 times more G-force when braking as it will accelerating, meaning it go from 100mph to 0mph 3-4 times faster than it will go from 0mph to 100mph
The Twin Tunnel Ports of the UIDS are optimized for each application.( UIDS-911 vs UIDS-B/C) plus the unique switching valve to keep the pick-up ports in the deepest-less aerated oil available when in continuous high-G turns.

Yea, I have sent out the updated v3.3 parts to the few who are running some of the UIDS v3.0 (early testers) and have enough to update half of the ones I have on hand..
I still need more though..
Replied to your E-mail also..

Hi Justin, I just found your E-mails in my Spam folder, I have no idea why Yahoo directed them there. I suppose I need to check my Spam folder much more often.

Update.. As of about a week ago Skip and I are no longer partners on the UIDS. I will continue to manufacture and supply him parts for the UIDS as well as the UAOS. Skip and I were butting heads too frequently, causing progress of the UIDS to slow to a creep. For the sake of the project, I decided to back off and give Skip full control.

Sorry to see this. Hopefully it is just a business issue. I have seen several times where 2 creative, successful, strong willed people end up parting ways with the product surviving the change. Best wishes to both Skip and George moving forward.
