If we could get all the cars on this current list outfitted with sensors now, and collect data on each engine before and after adding the UIDS, we would have the unrivalled data set. It would cover a range of current setups, varying engine health, engine oils, driving styles, and then finally the effect of the UIDS. The minimum sensors needed(I think) would be Oil Pressure, Oil Temp, Lateral Accelerometer, Inline Accelerometer, Throttle position sensor. Nice to have would be water temp. I've never tried to source a data acquisition system for a car so I don't yet have a recommendation. Guess I need to start looking. Off to Google.

So cool to see this happening.
Yep! Got a 10 year old AIM solo which I have to upgrade to the AIM Solo DL, assuming the DL will provide the data needed. Big thanks to Jason who was going to take a look and see if it's sufficient. FYI, it's approximately $700. If it does work or if there is a better suggestion, maybe we can get a quantity discount either way.

I’ll reach out to Matt with what we’re looking for and see if he wants to suggest anything and if he would be open to a group buy.

I think he’s at the Glen this weekend so hold tight for next week.

Add me on the list please! I've not had the courage to track my 996 yet because of oil pressure issues I've had on local roads even. Really missing all of my track buddies.

Will the new sump fit all M96 engines or just the one in the 996?

I see you have an 06 Cayman,, the UIDS v2.2 will get tested on the Cayman/Boxster as well.

This is a fantastic effort and really exciting. I'd very much like to be on the wait list for my M97. My deep sump isn't helping enough on the track or the street (as you all know)!
