Thanks for the breakdown on the speaker set up! Super useful. I'm curious to see how my stock Bose stuff sounds once I upgrade to PCCM+ and if there isn't an improvement I'll probably go this route.

Also would like to say that I have a CDR23 and a factory amp.

After a couple times of reattaching the OEM Cup lip and it dragging on the ground, I bought a track Demon Motorsports lip. The fit is perfect and the track version has a sheen and not as polished as I’d imagine the other would be. You can see some mold marks but overall it’s what I wanted.

before.

After:

Big thank you to @yaz996 for his phone mount. It’s a perfect companion for those with a console delete and the ESR mount holds my iPhone 14 Pro Max in Apple’s leather MagSafe case very tightly. Opted for Yaz’s power source and it sits behind the lower delete.

Also swapped out to a new cup holder since I had everything apart.

I can’t get the Rennkit module to power up and originally I thought it was because I didn’t have the correct power set up. I called Dave and he answered, customer service is fantastic but we really couldn’t troubleshoot at that moment. Decided to button everything up and try again tomorrow or Wednesday.

Joel, lip looks good. I have the same one but have yet to put it on. I will when I add the 3rd radiator. Like the product line Demon speed is developing for the 996.

Is that a larger diameter opening in the cupholder? If so does it pull open further and have a second holder, like the factory unit?

I don’t believe it is but it does pull out. It’s weird having a functional cup holder now.

Pretty happy today. Changed the oil today annnnnndddddd….

Clean all the way and zero specs of anything, the Napa Gold filter did what it was advertised to do. The oil itself was pretty clean too so I believe in the twist on filter adapter and the filter. I’m elated, wasn’t really sweating it because there was nothing I could do after the fact and let’s all agree not to bore the block for the EPS bearing.

The car is ready for the drive up to the Dragon. Fresh oil, filter and wheels torqued.

I think part of the problem with non-Cup front spoiler lips is the plastic hardware that holds them on.
When I got my original Porsche cup front spoiler lip I used stainless hardware to hold it on.

My lip has been bent almost 180° without breaking.
It got a bit chewed up when being loaded to go to F6I.
Luckily I have 2 spares, 1 an original and 1 Demon Speed.

That’s good to know and I believe I’ll do the same at some point. Looking to clean up the OEM cup lip and keep it. There’s a chance I’ll be getting a cup bumper late next year so your method will probably be used.

I posted in the cup car forum a side by side of an original cup car lip spoiler and a Demonspeed.
Demonspeed nailed it!

I did the same, stainless 10mm bolt; nylocs and fender washers. U scrap the crap out of my lip and it stays on.

After pushing the car hard at the Dragon, I have new thoughts and plans for 2023. First things first, I have semi solid engine mounts and I get audible vibration inside the cabin. @Justin76 car on cold start is exceptionally quiet and he has factory mounts.

Next is the suspension. @De Jeeper has the Ohlins set up that I have and I found the ride to be legit. The sport suspension currently in my car did extremely well and at no point did I feel the car to be unstable at speed, hard braking, turns and etc but there was an absolute difference even in my hands. With that said 2023 will be the year the car gets everything done to include the Cargraphic air cup kit.

My big *** was sliding around like a wet noodle and the 14hr drive was enough for me to consider upgrading to RaceTechs sooner than later. Factory non sports along with the cage was brutal.

Lastly are the brakes. Mine were phenomenal during almost 8hrs of spirited driving. Pedal feel was consistent and I’m having a hard time justifying the 380mm set up. I understand that braking has a lot to do with the tires so I’m not dumb, just don’t think my current brakes are $6k inferior.

I would like to get rid of the sunroof and do a carbon roof skin. I rarely use it and feel it’s another expensive part that’ll eventually rattle or stop working. The almost stock power felt good but couldn’t get a good measure of the engine cooling because it was 50 degrees for most of the time.

All on all the car handled great and I plan to keep this car until I can’t drive anymore.

I agree on the brakes. U can go to a 350mm with a stock caliper and get more aggresive pad if u need more.

You don't need 380mm brakes.... 350's will be fine. Don't overlook the rear brakes. With all that weight back there might as well use it.
