@TheChunkNorris I don’t know if this is applicable to your engine mount situation.

https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...ne-mounts.html

He talks about being robbed of hp with stiffer then factory engine/trans mounts.

Yeah I’ve seen it, the reason for the swap isn’t related to performance purposes and more for comfort.

Never tested semi mounts to see if they really do mess with the computer. Always ran oem mounts because my indy told me to for the same reason. But I did replace them with REIN mounts earlier this year per Tex's recommedation instead of factory. New mounts certainly tightened up the engine and shifting. Engine pulls strong at all rpms. Next step with be trans mounts. I wanted to spread out when I replaced both to see of there was an improvement in bslsnce snd shifting feel. I'll find out early next year on trans mounts when I replace with oem.

I've been running these for over a year now and am pretty happy. https://rennpart.com/product/rs-engine-mount-upgrade/ They are stiffer than OEM but it's still rubber so NVH increase is minimal and you can tell a difference. I went with the URO version.

I have the Renegade Motorsport 350mm kit on the front of my 996.
In total I spent less than $1K.
I've been considering upgrading to Girodisc 350mm rotors($1300) just to drop some weight.
The rotors I chose (and the Renegade Motorsport adapters) added 10.34 pounds total to the front of my car.
The Girodisc rotors should drop that weight by 8.4 pounds.
+1 pound per side for the larger 350mm rotors would be awesome.
That would make my total price just over $2K for the 350mm front rotors.
I could keep the "old" 350mm rotors as a backup set.

Is this another kit from the one you posted about a couple years ago? I have a 350mm kit that uses 350mm rear rotors from a 997 Turbo.

No, this is the same kit.
I'd forgotten that you and I had discussed this BBK a couple of years ago.
I didn't remember us discussing it in PM until after I'd posted.

I am a believer in our calipers and that kit, probably doing the 2 piece rotors because they look dope.

Washed the car which included removing the wheels to clean the barrels. The 3M ceramics are holding up well but the maintenance spray seized in the bottle so I’ve done little maintenance. Slowly phasing out my Chemical Guys products and going to transition to Shine Supply, more to come on that.

Been using a new to me Tire protectant and I freaking love it. It’s available on Amazon and really made for aircraft tire use.
  1. Clean tire
  2. Apply product
  3. Allow to soak for 10mins
  4. Wipe excess with damp cloth
  5. Wipe moisture with dry cloth

Leaves a clean and matte finish that is durable and water resistant.

Link for product.

32 oz = 19.00

Tire Dressing, Tire Protectant, No Tire Shine, No Dirt Attracting Residue 32oz Natural Satin/Matte Finish, Aircraft Grade Rubber Tire Care Conditioner, Better Than Automotive Products https://a.co/d/6YulXmV

I’m going to use their tire cleaner as well, a 16oz bundle is available for less than $20.00.

Nice - I like a more matte and not overly shiny look. The biggest thing that helped longevity for me was using tar remover, especially on a new tire. Really helps to ensure that the product bonds to the runner well. Car detailing is so therapeutic...

I’ve never tried that but makes perfect sense.

I realized I didn’t post a pic of the completed car. I think I took a branch to the side of my car because I have a faint line that goes all the way down the side. Looks like it’ll have to be stripped and redone.
