My girl decided to take a trip to St. Augustine for a family vacation with her 7yr old. Managed to get some tickets for the Brumos Collection Museum in Jacksonville and let me tell you… absolutely recommend you all go if given the chance. Tickets can be purchased online and required for entrance.
The venue is gorgeous and the staff was incredibly kind and helpful. My girl’s kid got some stickers and a little Matchbox car, he loved it. Here are the pics.

Welp. The pulley’s came in and after driving from St. Augustine to Miami(5.5hrs with holiday traffic)… I decided to install the pulleys only to find out the upper pulley didn’t come with the necessary spacer. Tried reusing the old one and no joy, it’s fused into the bearing race. Here’s some of my handy work after the futile efforts to get it loose.
Tried soaking it in penetrating fluid, torch, hammer and punch… nada. The originally damaged pulley was a 5min job so this hiccup is especially maddening. I’m also a scatterbrain and thought I purchased all 3 pulleys, I’m missing the tension pulley which is also cracked. Sent FCP an email so hopefully they’ll fix this and I ordered the missing pulley now.
Cracked pulley.
I own 2 cars and both are down. Still waiting for an axle rebuild on the VW and bought another one that should be here tomorrow, I’m installing the first one that is available. The joys of owning Germans.

Ha! I went through all kinds of research hell trying to be sure to get the correct brake components for my E93. Bought kits based on the brake rotor part number, which may have been what did me in; the verts seem to have a mix of components from the wagon and sedan/coupes. Everything was right except the front brake pads. Amazingly, I ordered the stuff from FCP Euro at around 11:30 Thursday morning, and it was all on my porch by 9:30 am the next day! I was flabbergasted. All it accomplished in the end was giving me a head start on getting the right front pads.

Chris at FCP is who I worked with and they’re sending me a new unit. Figured I’d update that.
Next item, the side mirrors arrived from Rennline by way of Pelican Parts. Initial thoughts are very positive and minimal blemishes. I’ve said it before but I’m a carbon fiber snob and really look at the details of good carbon work. If my CSR is a 10/10, the Rennline mirrors are a 8/10.
The two things I look for is how the edges are rolled and when two edges meet on a curved surface. I’m happy to say the mirrors have very good rolled edges and the mesh work is clean. I did find some small defects but not enough to return the item or not install them on the car.
Unfortunately I got covid yesterday and my car is at my girl’s house. With that said I’ll install the pulley when it gets here.
