Why is it normal for 993 4S to cost $100K+ but “insane” for the 996 variant to cost $60K? The 491 Turbolooks sell for more than 930 Turbos, nobody bats an eye either. Come on

This happens with any car model that rises in value, you should see the miata guys losing their **** over $10k+ rust free 1990/97 cars… although they complained when they were $5k as well
Prices on most everything collectible are off the chain.. I like old Honda ATCs and Pilot/ Odyssey buggies. The prices of ATCs have gone up insane in the last year, most are up 5-6X what they were.
I was going to sell my 356C, and I posted it on my personal FB page as I was prepping it to go onto BaT. I decided not to sell the car, when I started considering all the work and special one- off stuff I had fitted to the car.
As soon as I mentioned that I was listing it on BaT the offers started coming in within minutes, with the best one being 225K from one of my long time customers. Several others were offering in the 200K range. With what I have done to the car I think it would have fetched around 260-275K based on one that sold around 2 weeks ago that's a lesser car than mine..
Then I decided to keep it.... I'd never be able to replace it, or the components that are in it.
This car wasn't worth 70K 18 months ago..
I still don't think it's really "worth" 175K+ today, but the market is what it is, and is driving these values to insane levels. I really should sell the car, but if I do it just means paying more taxes and I lose something that I worked too hard to build.

Man I’d love to see that car on Leno or Petrolicious or someplace.

I’ve never even taken it to a Porsche event. I’ve only had a few photos taken of the car. I built it to drive, and break the hearts of every purist that ever comes into contact with it.
I pretty much only take it to local events where most people don’t even know what the hell it is.. I drove it to church last Sunday and everyone just called it “a James Bond car”... Whatever.....
you’ve mentioned your daughter and her mechanical interests. Keep it for her till she can at least drive it legally😎. You’ll kick yourself for letting it go too soon.....

996 C4S production is 4x the 993. This isn't hard to understand.
Thanks.. I finished the 356 just before she was born. It has always needed a stronger gearbox, with a 5 speed. I am working on that now.
Jake that’s a beautiful car, the paint job looks amazing and the red in the engine really stands out, my cousin has a white one that it’s suit up. What you think is the hp of that engine 70?? The guys are right keep it for your daughter, then you are going to need to get your shot guns ready . I have a 1941 browning sweet 16 and my father left me a 1960 browning over and under with gold engraved. Love them because they are Belgium made not Chinese.

The contrast of the car really pops.. My good friend that did the interior does street rods, so when he told me that I should go over the top with the restomod concept with red leather, I listened.
Ava is beyond the 12 gauge, and onto the Ma Deuce.. She loads a mean 770 grain 50BMG soft point, too.. There's no recoil when its fastened into the pulpit of the Half Track
