Sorta been getting the feeling that the Turbos (outside of really special ones) won't be getting the same kind of love. Now that every modern car is turbocharged, I think the naturally aspirated engine is becoming "old school" and a sought after feature.

But, the Turbos are still ridiculous cars with classic styling and reliability. I'm glad I bought mine when I did. I paid pretty much top of the market for its condition 2 years ago at 63CAD, and now, the market for that car locally is WAY up. Vancouver is a crazy market, too.

I agree with the sentiment, but old turbo cars have their own character. What's boring about contemporary turbos is the flat torque curve -- the 996 is certainly not that.

Speaking of turbocharged cars though, at $35k for a 996 I'd rather be driving an FD. Just as poorly built, but much cheaper to run and much better to drive.

I debated an FD RX7, lusted after one during the spike of Fast & Furious days, still wouldn't mind having one but I feel the 3.4L in the 996.1 is a much heartier motor than a 13B.

$35k pretty much just gets you a NA 996 at this point. $15k-$20k could get you a respectable FD.

I sold my stock 93 (55k miles, manual touring) for $26k back in 2019. 35k is the bottom now for the least desirable (93 Touring, red or green) FDs that aren't automatic.

The light steering feel is similar to the 996. But you get a great suspension setup (double a-arms with spherical bearings all around) and a motor with a ton of character. Don't let that second turbo spool up in a corner though . The only letdown in the FD is the transmission which was straight out of a b-series truck. That thing felt absolutely awful.

🤣

I recommend anyone who hasn't before, to stand behind a 13b as it warms up. You'll soon understand why they they're relegated to generator duty.

tbf that's probably 1/1 meridian metallic on black manual cars out there. If you reeeeaaally wanted that, and I can definitely understand why, maybe it makes sense.
