If I hadn’t done every maintenance item on mine in the last 12 months, I’d seriously consider this.
Just glad that’s it not located closer

Have taken your 996 out of your garage and driven in properly.

It’s amusing that the wheels are now worth more than 30% of my original purchase price.

Am I the only one left scratching my head why someone would pay $6,100 for "refinished" wheels that weren't properly prepped and still covered in brake dust on the back side after said refinishing?

You're not. I guess they're cool if you want to keep things original but for that money I'd personally get a set of BBS LM wheels with new tires and call it a day.

Apologies if this has already been posted. High water mark for 996 turbos? Quite the spec: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...911-turbo-165/

Default This was a big high.

So first flat six got the 408s out of this car, an early 99 example with a rare ble color. He got pretty good money for the 408s and then $27,500 for this car. Mine has 101k miles and I’m pretty sure mine is in a lot better mechanical shape and yes the original 408s are on my car. Who knows if I ever sell I may do the same and sell the wheels separately.

I would say someone overpaid for this 125k mile car.

@3/98 911 coupe I think FF6 showed he knows the market well and made hopefully a quick dollar from the transaction. I’d separate my hollows too if I had some. Can’t hate on someone for being a capitalist is America.

I was thinking about selling my hollows also. I had a chance from a good friend to get the 18 turbo looks with good continental rubber for $1,000. Anyway I decided against it because I really love the wheels and it’s probably the coolest option in the car. For now I’m also driving the car as it is with his pitina because that’s all original. Anyway I’ll get to drive it again today. FFS came out pretty good in that deal. I haven’t seen an early 99 with 125k miles going for that total ($27,500 + I believe $6k for the wheels) plus add the auction fee, that has to be an all time high for a high mileage early 99. Hopefully that is where the early 99s are going next.
