Sometimes reading differing opinions can be traumatic.
I hope everything is okay

Not engaging with you because, again, this is a car forum. there are lots of places online you can go argue with people about whatever you want please do that.

Back to the thread: For having put on only 2k miles since the very recent sale, and the economic downturn, I was expected the Red C4S to do worse. Pleasantly surprised.

I was being sarcastic, we haven't had a single rolling rolling black out in CA this summer. The gavin newsome infanticide I can neither confirm nor deny.

Point was, and is, we all love our ICE 996s here! and this thread is to discuss the values of em right. No need for political squabbles or taking digs at each other for where we live.

I was being sarcastic as well. No worries man. not getting political and definately not dissing you or your state. BTW i lived in silicon valley for 8 years back in the 90s and spent half my time in s. Cal. I get CA. Most importantly, I am not getting political. Never do. But I do get economic. Keep doing what you are doing.

Uh. YOU were the one who brought politics into this thread.
People were discussing EVs and electrical usage in a car forum until your little tantrum.

I just hope you’re okay.

The only thing that should be taken seriously on all these threads is the health of your 996. The rest is fun and games. It's social media damn it.

I never understood where it’s ok to digitally yell at someone or a group of people, especially after no one said anything about politics… only to make it political yourself… then tell people not to make political. Ya’ll have gotten too comfortable talking in a way you wouldn’t dare speak in someone’s presence. Go to the PM first and save the cringe comments.

Think the bubble is stabilizing but don’t think it’ll burst. A friend of mine has been tracking 996.2 prices since I bought mine and every so often will send me AutoTrader ads for clean(C2 cars) .2 under 70k miles in the lower $30k range.

Yeah. Seems that higher quality 996s that have been well taken care of are holding their own. The more questionable stuff isn't. Quite frankly, I am happy to see it happen. Folks should be rewarded for taking care of their cars with a premium price.

Just like in any market, eventually it moves from euphoric speculation to common sense quality.

I know we’re talking about running cars but I’ve recently starting looking for rollers… the days of $8k clean rollers have come to an end.

I am fascinated by how cheap 996 turbos are in relation to the 996 C4S. Will C4S prices push up turbo prices? And will C4S prices pull up 996.2 C2 prices?

My bet would be yes.

Did not make reserve at $117,000. Was the reserve too high or is the market just taking a reality pill?

From what little I have seen I am surprised at the prices for the C4S. Seems unexpected.

Will that elevate other models? Time will tell, but I think the bump in prices is probably slowing or stalling at the moment. We will need a few more months to get a better idea of trends.

Either way, I'm not selling and not buying, either.

Agree. The days of picking up clean 996's for low $20k's is gone and behind us. A good 996 will remain a low $30k's car and if the wind blows sweetly then upward she goes.

The problem is I think the days of picking up a lot of enthusiast cars are long gone.
