Is anything on BaT not "well bought and sold!"?

I agree, I thought it was going to go into the 30's. Imagine my surprise when I won it!

My first Porsche. I've shopped 996's for years but never made a purchase. Until now. Still getting to know this site, but I'll be around.

Congrats! I've always loved the Targa. Dream build for me is a Targa with a TT drivetrain. Ultimate GT.

Most cars are "well sold" on BaT IMO

Well sold these days, especially.

That's fantastic! Congrats and welcome to the party. Hope you're able to add many more miles to it as these cars are great on the track, back roads and road trips. I've done all 3!

Always a bit surprised when I see a car pop on BaT or CaB that looks like it wasn't even cleaned that well before listing. Makes no sense to me but what do I know.

It's surprising to me as well. Not everyone is mechanically inclined but I feel like anyone is able to get a bucket of water and soap and give the car a wash. To me it shows how the owner cared, or not cared for the car.

I think that's an indication of people trying to jump on the current pricing bandwagon for a quick buck.

Do you know if there are records on the number of cars sold with different paint codes? I wouldn't necessarily call speed yellow 996 a "unicorn" I've seen more of them than any other color on that list.

My car is supposedly a "one year" only color for the 986/996 (it was available for a couple years for 993s, and one year each for the 928 and 968). It would be cool to know just how many 996s were sold in Iris Blue Pearl in 2000

Or at least take the floor mats out and shake the fruit loops off of them before you snap a pic.

My other car is a Prius

I'm probably too cheap to really be cut out for P-car ownership haha.

I swear this data is out there, although I may just be thinking of the pie chart I saw for the 996 GT3.

Congrats

You got a great deal on that car, I would have said $33k, but as others have said not a great job representing the car with those photos.

Keep us updated how you like it
