What did you do to your 996 today?

I put in another hour on the clear bra after dinner this evening. Now I'm absolutely convinced that the film used on the bumper is a different thickness than that used on the hood, fenders, and mirrors. That which is on the bumper is noticeably thinner. It simply breaks a lot faster than the aforementioned panels. After an hour I only manage to remove about a 4x6" patch.
I tried using hot water from an electric tea kettle and it did manage to heat the glue up very well, it also heated up the film to the point where it broke even faster. I suspect that this technique would be great if you had a severely cracked film and you were just going to scrape it all off with the plastic razor. This method won't work well on the bumper cover because there are more curves than flat areas.
The only method that I haven't tried is the 3M "Stripe Off" Pinstripe / Adhesive Remover wheel:
It's slow...but significantly faster than my current pace...and it saves my fingers. It'll probably **** off my neighbors if I'm doing it at night with the garage door open. "whirrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...."...for 3 hrs. So, garage door closed and noise-cancelling headphones on.
Gonna try that next. If that isn't effective, I'm just gonna bite the bullet and pay a pro to finish up this last 25%

I have been taking some time (evenings) to enjoy the new engine I built in my 996.
I did not realize the sky was purple Friday when I was out for a drive.
Running well, just crossed 1000 miles in a little over a week. Those 200 mile round trips to VIR add up!

OK. I feel like there's more to the story here.
Did you buy it sight-unseen? Test drive? PPI? Auction? Car's history? Car's story?

So sorry to see this.
Your "the trees though" comment is hilarious. I can't "like" your post though -- seems wrong like to click "like" given the events depicted .
One thing we know for sure, the wind must have been in excess of 70 mph to raise the rear spoiler.
