Re: e91 chat - here's mine. Also a 6MT. Hands down my favorite daily driver I've ever owned. The 986 has displaced it as the true favorite, but it was a high bar.

N52 is a decent motor - it wakes up with the 3SIM, MILVs, and regular all seasons (ditch the heavy run flats). I may make my wagon track ready this year.

Not all today, but this weekend:

Friday: oil and filter change
Saturday: 400+mi round trip to Ithaca to drop daughter back at school (12-20F all day, some snowy hills, highway speeds)--really appreciating the new 997 seats installed earlier this month
Sunday: still at 4.25" crankcase vacuum for 3yrs now

Is this AWD? Super rare to find an AWD with a 6 speed!

Yep. Mine is AWD, 6MT. It has been our fearless road trip car for summer vacation for 3 years now. I just hit 140k miles. Planning to drive it till it dies. I think I'm going to acquire some style 68 wheels and mount a BBK on it later this year and take it for a HPDE day. While I've enjoyed wrenching on the BMW, all performance modding aspirations died when I bought the Boxster. Now I aim for reliability over everything else.

Here's a couple posts of all the dumb stuff I've done to the car - the 986 gets all my brain juice these days.

Default Upgraded Bose Subs to dual 8inch…took 12 years🤷🏾‍♂️

The subs OEM are 5.25 inch woofers. When I purchased car Crutchfield was only source for replacements…Focal 5.5s. They were $1000 a set so didn’t go there. I gave up and built an enclosure for 8 inch subs. All the aftermarket ones were very expensive. Shape wad acceptable but carpet match not. I’m a bass head and two 8 inch type Rs from Alpine(the only brand aftermarket for a Porsche…(sorry Kenwood fanboys) are just awesome! But…I want an OEM LOOK! The solution came as “shallow mount “ technology has brought 8 inch install depth down to 5-6” size. It required some modification of the OEM sub enclosure. “Release the Multit00l!”
so I went to work making the Pioneers(found a great deal at Walmart no less…$130 for 2). So 2 hours …After enlarging the openings …it lost some integrity but nothing tape couldn’t fit. It will never be seen. Can’t wait to install OEM Bose subbox back into the car. It’s 15 degrees and my garage is in heated.waiting for warmer temps(40s)

“Re-sealed the box..cloth tape underneath metal tape for SVH reduction.

Down-firing subs… ala OEM
I’m missing the “Bose” brackets which surround the outlet ports. These boxes are still available only in Grey…no other colors or parts available from Porsche and no luck finding the originals. I moved since removing and can’t find them…☹️. If anyone has some…LMK?

Got 15mm spacers on with the 18” turbo twists. Looks good and def can feel the handling difference with the 18” rims, H&R lowering springs and spacers.

I noticed you are using those semi-hard rubber blocks that came with the Quick Jacks. I didn't like the "wiggle" they caused when the car was raised. I made blocks of wood that fit in the recessed trays, now no wiggle.

I am going to set my quick jack up for the first time soon, do you have a pic of the wooden blocks you made?

FWIW I use the 2” blocks with the quickjack and it’s solid as a rock.

With 1 rubber QJ block mine is very stable. With 2 QJ rubber blocks stacked up its a little less stability but still very solid.

What size are your wooden blocks..? Are they high enough to drop the engine..? Do you stack up the rubber blocks on top of your wooden blocks..? Any pics

I didn’t get any wiggle, but did not stack the blocks. Not sure if they are different with the new model.

Hard to take a pic, they're under my wife's Honda.

But, picture this, I took 2 x 6's, and cut them to fit inside each of the trays, just fit, no moving around.

Then I took another 2 x 6, cut the exact same size, and screwed them together stacked.

So each block is about 3.2"'s high, which for my 03 996 C2 with stock suspension, is the perfect height to just fit after I fit the "pucks" into the jack points.

For my Cayman, which is lowered, I have to take the blocks out and just put in one small piece of 2 x 4.

Oh, and with the large blocks I can also lift my 2014 Honda Accord with them, works perfect!

fyi, I also have the SUV extender set, but I've only ever once used it on a full size van.
