Serviced the clamshell mechanism. Let's call it perventative maintenance and the unfortunate knack some of us have for taking things apart for no reason.
Also see pdf attached at the bottom...the additional pictures were not showing properly in the initial post.
Put the convertible top in service mode. Refer to the great Pelican Parts guide, and follow disassembly up to Figure 5 of Ref. [1].
Disassembly and inspection of central drive mechanism on the bench.

I am working on fixing a sticky throttle. After removing the pedal assembly and pulling on the cable that goes to the position sensor in the dash I don't think it's the pedal. Can this rotary sensor be lubricated or something similar to fix this problem?
It's hard to be smooth on the accelerator and makes 1st and 2nd gear a chore. Picture of cam lever and sensor below borrowed from another user's post:

Installed 997 Power/Heated Seats
Just finished the installation of some 997 heated/power seats. These had the memory feature (as did my 03 C4S), so the wiring for the driver's seat was a real challenge (still have to sort out the driver's lumbar adjustment wiring). Otherwise, the seats are (as others have said) a huge improvement.
Have to give a huge thank you to the many folks who have done similar work and documented it here. While my situation was slightly different, these folks' work got me going in the right direction and made it possible for me to figure this out.
