What did you do to your 996 today?

I have been converted as well, for mechanics tools - they seem to have the stuff I need and it works well. I run their version of the dremel and the right angle drill and their little tire inflator at the track, really good stuff.
The ratchet and 3/8 stubby impact sucked me in 😀

I love your Rennbow towel. I looked for my engine lid light socket, and I think it is missing, all there is there is the wiring and a 'socket'. So I think I need to order yet another part. I've spent sooo much on this car since purchase in Feb. I mean, to me, a lot of money. More than 1/2 purchase price. To PCar owners and collectors, chump change I'm sure. And I'm nowhere near finished....I need to learn to pace myself.

Replaced both frunk struts
Put a non-smoker cap on the cigarette plug (missing when I bought the car)
Swapped the driver’s side mirror (I burned the paint when trying to remove old clear bra)
Simple but satisfying

Sometimes you do a job and then wonder feel it was worth it...but you KNOW it was worth it.

Discovered that my litronic with retrofitlabs
...Are actually really good. I went for a night drive for the first time in my 996, 1st time since the upgrade and I'm so pleased with the headlights output and aim. I had been worried that upgrading the reflectors would then require aiming the lights but turns out that step is not needed. The lights are bright 🌞🌞 🌞🌞🌞. Here's a link to the product. I chose the basic 4300k lights, they are very natural, not white or blue. https://retrofitlab.com/collections/...xenon-retrofit
Definitively well with the price. I purchased new h7 hibeams as well, from a different source.
If you do upgrade a reflector, from any seller, when you unscrew the 2 screws that have rubber spacers, count the rotations and match when installing. Don't torque the screws in or you will struggle to aim.

Cleaned up the seat belt buckle receptacles. Used a sample sheet of red vinyl wrap. The red plastic was faded to the pink color of Bazooka Joe bubble gum. Sanded a little and took an Exacto to trim. I used a hook nose pick to keep the piece in place. 20 minutes total. Spent 2 years thinking of a durable enough DIY solution. So there’s that.
