Unpacked its new Aerokit bumper. If anyone is considering this, my total out of pocket cost with shipping from France to San Diego was $1,844.74. It arrived 7 days after placing the order. Gaudin Porsche, where it's on indefinite backorder was $2,026.84 with shipping. And my own beloved Porsche of San Diego was $2,925.41 with me picking it up at the parts counter.
That's messed up on so many levels, not the least of which is the loss of a good guitar. Did you track down the driver and really hammer him on who the manager was that told him to pick it up? Do you have video in the store showing fedex taking your box? This bugs me. Basically theft. Hope you retrieve it someday via serial number if it comes up for sale online.
I do keep an eye out on line for the guitar. It was a very distinctively optioned sunburst Collings SJ model so easy to spot. So far no luck. We did file a police report with the serial number so if it ever shows up somewhere we have documentation and could possibly reclaim it. And yes we did hammer on the driver to no avail. He admitted picking it up to me but wouldn't do more than admit that fact because he didn't want to lose his job and I suspect his supervisor is actually the guilty party. I tried to get into the FedEx facility and confront him but that place is like Fort Knox. NO admittance. Period. My insurance refused payment as well. No scan, no paperwork so it never happened...
I'm taking us off topic so I will shut up but yes FedEx steals guitars.

Sorry last OT post: Collings is a dream guitar. I have a Novo Serus T and just ordered a Charles Whitfil Telecaster in Surf with maple neck. I feel your pain.
I think the opposite would be cooler! Engrave, thin layer of body color, let dry and then sand the logo flat. The crest itself would be body color (or black if so preferred). I'd love a set...do keep me informed!
I tried that and the results are NFG. I'm now using a very thin piece of aluminum that fits into the recess perfectly. I'm using a diamond drag bit for the engraving so the cuts are very shallow. Next I'm going to try painting first and then engraving and see how that compares to the bare aluminum, which looks pretty good.
Update: I tried clear coating them with gloss and satin. Gloss looks really good. Now I just have to figure out which glue to use. The original was flexible and I think that's a good idea. I'm going to see if Home Depot still sells "Goop" which I used on a very heavy glass door that is still holding up after 20 years.

That really looks good. Have you thought about baked enamel type coating?
FYI, If you have any one off's (during your experimental phases), I would be interested in two of them, for ornamental purposes. They don't have to match.
I recently installed a MR12VOLT bluetooth/aux adapter in my 2003 C2 with Bose. Yesterday I got to an independent shop to activate the CDC function on the CDR23 headunit. I am using the MR12VOLT to aux attach a Sirius/XM receiver, phone and USB stick. I put the unit behind the drivers side carpeted console extension where the phone pre-wire harness is located. Here are pics of the visible part of the install. The extension cable for the USB stick pulls out about 24 inches. Headunit and Sirius/XM receiver USB stick in driver footwell
EASIER to just use the SiriusXM app on your phone than to buy and install a whole separate unit! The MR12VOLT is great for keeping the car stock but upgrading the PCM and or CDR unit with Bluetooth!
Last parts of the suspension showed up today. X73 springs with B8 shocks, top mounts, bumps stops, dust boots, etc.
Also some more audio stuff showed up… Excelon headunit, Excelon 5 channel amp, and Focal coax speakers for the rear. Still waiting on the Focal 3-way speaker upgrade and custom subwoofer setup from CAI to arrive…
Appointment Friday for the suspension…hopefully the remaining audio stuff shows up before March 30 so I can drop it off for them to install while I’m out of town until the 5th…in a perfect world that would happen lol.

Already had the SiriusSM unit that is shared with my tow vehicle..
@Nate.Evans - great choice on the Focal speakers. I think you'll be very happy. I ran them in a Lexus GS350 in the past to replace the Mark Levinson ones and I was very happy with the sound.
