I broke the end of the oil filler tube off of the corrugated part. Dang brittle old plastic. But I used a hack from this forum (here) with a rubber pipe coupling (1 1/2" to 1 1/14") to get me up and running until I can get the real part installed (maybe when my alternator dies?).

Installed a roof rack and bike rack today.
If you’re wondering what that decal on the side is, it’s a new shop logo (I own a bike shop) that is obviously taking inspiration from a certain crest 😂. The design represents our identity pretty accurately. We’re a high-end bicycle boutique and both my business partner and I love Porsches. We have the penny-farthing hanging outside of our shop, the girl blowing the dandelion is a mural on the side of our building we had done, the polka dots is the climber’s jersey for the Tour de France that we incorporate into our jerseys, and the landscape is our landscape here in NC/SC.

Oh no, personal safety be damned.
I'm worried about the leather.

Participated in a winter rally. Roads finally cleared up. Felt good to stretch the legs a bit. Everytime I get behind the wheel of this thing I am always blown away by how good it is to drive.

Drifting
I've been picking up cycling as a hobby lately. I just "upgraded" to speed play pedals with some Fizik shoes so that I can go further into the mountains. I'm now reaching 20-25 mile rides about 3-4x per week with my eyes on the 30's. VERY hilly where I ride (background of my avatar.) Shame we live so far away from each other. When I need a new bike I will hit you up Nate so we can keep it in the 996 family. Assuming you can get one to me in NV?

This is very cool and it's all about consistency with riding. I use both pedal styles but generally prefer speedplay pedals. It's one of those things where if you can ride 25 miles, you can probably do 40. And if you can do 60, a 100 is within reach too! Hills are good and build character on the bike. I always said that riding uphill is a great equalizer. Doesn't matter who someone is off the bike - going up hill we're all suffering hah!

As for riding distances, I always tell people "it's not hard to ride 100 miles....but it is hard to ride it fast." It's all relative, you'll learn that distances are only used for a metric of how far you've gone and how much you enjoy it, not really your fitness level... If you have a good bike fit and fuel yourself correctly on the bike, the only thing that should make you want to get off the bike is boredom and/or just not wanting to be on a bike anymore, not because you can't keep going.

My personal experience about 996 as mechanics
Searched pretty throughly through the 996 forum to find and bump a thread like this if it existed. I couldn't find one, so I thought I would start a new thread where people could share what they accomplished for the day without having to post their own new thread.
Its one of my favorite threads on the 997 forum ,as it is updated multiple times daily. Lets see if we can get this one bumping.
First post is a friendly PSA. Get that front bumper off and clean off those radiators. Car was cooling fine, and any cooling improvement remains to be seen, but man did it feel good to clean 20+ years out of my 99 C2. Having the bumper off is a great opportunity to respray any plastic thats faded with a black or a clear coat.
