they call me back every few days. They agreed to a ppi in their shop, they’ll put it on a rack. I seen some were no inspections are allowed. Let’s see how this ends up.

Alignment makes a huge difference on 4S's or any AWD 911. Mine before alignment felt like the front end was driving me, I didn't know any better thought it was how a 4S feels. Now that it is been done properly the turn in is quit sharp and direct, much lighter feel. Whole new car.

i like the drive. My issue is the body gaps between the front fender and door they are not flushed. Also the fact that the fender liner on the driver side is trashed worries me that this car had some kind of issue.

I got my car back earlier this week from the shop, and they did some stuff while they had the car:
  • Refinished the wheels and put on new Michelin Pilot Sport 4s
  • Added 7mm/15mm Elephant Racing wheel spacers
  • Installed Numeric short shift kit and cables

I did some more stuff yesterday!
  • Installed clear side markers
  • Installed Numeric pedal kit

Where are the center caps? Do you run it without them? The pedals look awesome! How do you like the numeric shifter?…👍

Replacing the rear window regulator in my 01 cab. This is essentially a form of torture.

The center caps were taken off when the wheels were refinished, and I haven’t put them back on yet. I’m considering ordering some full color Porsche emblem centers instead of the carerra 4 ones I have.

I love the Numeric shifter and cables, it went from rubbery and long to bolt rifle precise with very short throws. I can’t speak to any other SSK or the install process since I had Steinels Autoworks do it for me, but I would highly recommend it if you’re considering one.

Getting new tires put on today.

Also, I have a rattly cat and center top sensor is bad. Needless to say I can live without these being repaired for a little while longer...

Got the front seatbelts rewebbed, and then front sports seats were recovered. I also FINALLY found a graphite grey leather 3-spoke wheel thanks to a member here, and I'll be installing it shortly

Car should hopefully be out from paint in the next month, so I'll be posting the final details.

I took mine for a drive this morning.
First drive in almost 3 weeks. (Stupid COVID)

When I got back, it went on the QuickJacks so I can finally do my last oil change before the engine rebuild.
Ran out of steam(stupid COVID) so the oil change will happen later this afternoon…hopefully before the oil cools completely.

Edited: Got the oil changed. Most likely the last oil change for the 996 until early next year.

Last night, I got mine up on jack stands and under it for the first time. I had to go out and buy a new jack since mine wasn't low enough and long enough. Can't wait until I get a lift! Anyway, I got the rear sway bar bushings and drop links replaced and changed the engine and gear oil. It was 34 out this morning, and I took it for a test drive and the shifting was much smoother, especially when cold.

Warm weekend so I took the hardtop off. I've only had the car a month, so this is the first time to take the top off and lower the roof.
