I got the motor fully dressed and ready to go back in. The exhaust really kicked my butt. I had 8 of 12 bolts break on the manifolds so i got a Stomski Racing guide from another member. It works really well but i still had to helicoil 2 of the holes.
This winters engine maintenance included variocam pads, cam chains, one side solinod, all 3 tensioners, ims to cam pads, imsb flang seals, plugs, tubes, coil packs, mk2 fuel injectors and an oil change. Also changed a reverse sensor and did an oil change (motol 300) in the trans.
Along with fixing a bunch of things from lazy mechanics the top of the motor got a good cleaning. Took me about 3 weekends to get it all done.

Motor ready to go back in
Oh and some treats for me.
That's looks deeeeeeeeeeelicious! Sunday afternoon I went to H.E.B. barbeque and got some also. YUM!
It won't be too long here before it's warm enough to not damage the summer only tires. In the meantime, I'll work on the mechanicals. Hoping the Covid stuff ends soon so we can travel again. Greece is on the list.
Got the motor running after pulling it for winter maintenance. After doing much more then variocam pads and tensioners its purring like a kitten. Ill be borrowing a scanner tomor to check crank angles so hopefully they r close to 0. Still need to burp the coolant and charge the ac and it should be done. I wish the weather was better in the north east do i could drive it.
Wow, for that much I’d look into one of the Joe Toth carbon fiber splitters.
If I ever have to replace my Cup car splitter I’d consider a Joe Toth 2-piece.
...that is if there aren’t any cup car splitter available.
Porsche discontinued them last year.
