Bill,

The gearshift seems to happen at the 5.1 second mark.

My guess would be that the scale used for the long Gs is too broad i.e. -4 to +4Gs or sth. which is why it does not show clearly the drop in Gs, plus, the frequency used needs to be lowered to 0-0.2s for the speed line as well. The car shifts undoubtedly very fast, but I still doubt that these Gs are correct.

It is irrelevant to your post and new car anyway, so just enjoy the great performance!

Jean, how do I lower the frequency on the speed line to 0-0.2s? I know how to change the axis using "Graph Set-up: Channel scaling & Axis setup", but not the frequency.

Congrats Bill, Is this a replacement for one of your sports cars? Looks like your strarting to look respectable. I've heard through a secret source that headers and ecu is an easy +40hp.

Hi Jim! It replaces my old 1995 M3 with 199,606 miles. I needed a 4-door. My aging friends and parents couldn't get into the back of the M3 anymore. Another benefit, I think, is that I'm getting looks from the older woman.

Beautiful car nonetheless.. Enjoy in good health.
Get back on mbworld Victor!

Nice car Bill! Enjoy. Pull out the charcoal filters for a few more hp. BTW my stock E55 ran a 12.1 60-130 (it was a tad hot out).

Hilarious
A 23 y/o "blinger" is asking the guy who "invented" 60-130mph if his run has been verified

Bobby and I went to Sonic to get some cheeseburgers... came back with 4.78 second 60 to 130 mph... LOL J/K

KPG approved it. 3 gears with 2 shifts. It did it in 701.18 ft. It was 88 degrees and a little damp. It has been raining for 3 weeks. We think that number can be improved with colder temps.... best,
markski

Very impressive! Congratulations to you and the fine engineering at Protomotive! That's over 2 seconds faster than a Carrera GT, and over 4 seconds faster than my Ruf Turbo R, which I thought was fast almost 3 years ago when I started this thread! It's great to have that performance in a perfectly streetable car, which I suspect still gets 20+ MPG on the highway (off boost, of course)!

Mark that is an outstanding result, with a 100% genuine and 2 shift run. Congratulations to you and the Knighton clan!

Your long Gs in 2nd and 3rd gear are insane!!

Out of curiosity did you get to confirm the weight, also how is the car as a daily driver, idle (stability, RPMs..) sound and city driving?

Your next challenge is not the quartermile 9s, which you certainly have in the pocket if you get any traction, but a beating to the 2002 record of the 996 Gemballa GTR 750 (21.7s in the 0-186mph for a street Porsche)... Can't wait to see that smashed badly.

Be safe.

Mark, congrats to you and Proto on a truly incredible run. I am glad to see you have everything sorted and the car is running true to form. Also, kudos on the 100% genuine 2 shift run. Enjoy it safely and hopefully we can roadtrip East this Fall to a good track and better temps. Kevin

Jean,
In the new Excellence Magazine, Sportec "claims" a run of 18.9 0-300kph at Nardo just prior
to some Crankshaft problems this past fall.
Do you know anything about it?
Mark's car would be PERFECT for this particular event, relatively soft Launch and mash it up
to 190 mph, what could be more fun???

Marty

I believe the SPR has been discussed before here on TB's 0-300kph thread. That run is not verified and never happened, it is only the tuner's claim. I am sure that car is fast, however until it is proven, in my books that run is nonexistent.

Based on the calculations I have made from Mark's DBox data, his 0-300kph will be around 19+ seconds, assuming heat soak. I have data up to 250kph from him and he blows away any Porsche I have seen by a margin. However until it is proven, it is only speculation.
