Jean, the tires are 245/35 *19 and 285/30 * 19.
My tested speeds are as follows per 1000 rpm, I believe these to be the same as the 993TT. These were taken from the speedo and tach, I did not have the XA/22 GPS unit at the time.

I am interested in knowing how this gearing compares to your data base.

Would the Secan or the pressure sensing be bad for daily driving or just bad for ones money account?
Any idea what RS would do with your current setup if they added a Secan IC?

Pressure sensing is no problem with the correct mapping. The only drawback in the past has been the relatively large and laggy turbos which they used to get you past 650hp. Of course now I have the fancy very latest 996tt K24/26s with the large cats and exhaust system already in situ with the existing twin plug, EVO head sealing and Carrillos, I reckon a Secan with all the 993 GT2 EVO induction system and maybe a cam change and I could be heading north of 650hp.
I have fantasized (yes probably the correct word ) about doing this but maybe asking the torque to be restricted to around 750NM all the way up the curve (so I could carry on using my current clutch) which could give near 700hp at 6500rpm.
I do not want to ask RS the question, it has a nasty habit of starting the ball rolling

Besides on the autobahn can you really use the kind of power you now have?
Is there a real difference in 2nd, 3rd or 4th gear, lets say between your old and your current setup?
Does the car spin tires with the AWD in 2nd on dry road?
In 5th and 6th gear I know that one can use this power - it takes ages up to 300kph with 430hp.
Not to start a discussion if our hobby makes sense, just want to get a feeling for the power levels. Still dreaming of Jean's car at night.

The readings you gave me do not seem very accurate, but they do confirm that you have a stock 993TT gearbox.. These are the estimated numbers based on your RUF wheels..they are in fact 19.02 Inches.
Speed @ 1000RPM
1st: 5.8
2nd: 10.5
3rd: 14.5
4th: 18.8
5th: 23.5
6th: 30.7
The numbers above are approximate of course, depending on tire pressure and tire choice.
The move to 19" will let your car go through the 0-200KPH (a key benchmark in Europe) with one gear change less than a stock 993TT, therefore improving times by 0.3-0.5 sec.

You are totally spot on - the Autobahn, 4th 5th and 6th is really the only place where the difference between 540 and 650hp can be truly felt. Yes I can spin in 2nd - can't imagine that a 650+ motor will be able to produce any more acceleration in 2nd due to the lack of loading. The better way to get more acceleration out of my set up would be to have longer gears. Since my power curve is pretty flat from 5000rpm (525hp) to 7000rpm (530hp) it will give better performance with taller gearing - this is why that 533hp RS 993 on this site: http://www.einszweidrei.de/ is so fast (0-300kph in 26s) because it has a long modified 964 5 speed box and similar flat power curve from 5K like mine.

Of course you are right, no point chucking anymore cash at what I have now. I don't know if you mean 993 or 996GT2 but I have to say that with the new Secan I/Cs producing 612hp on that EDO ring record car with only bolt ons (AFAIK) a 996 GT2 with 612+ hp is beginning to look tempting - unfortunately I still think they look blingy and Ghetto ey and I apologise to those who may be offended by this, but I don't wish to be mistaken for some of the idiots who drive 996s (Rennlisters excepted ) Time IS making them look more visually attractive (to me). When the 997tt comes out, all this RS 996tt know how should almost bolt straight on so may be worth waiting for the 997 GT2 ?

If that is your going in "specification", then you have successfully met that specification. Porsche and others may have a different specification that states that in addition to drivability for 200,000KM on whatever grade fuel, and a long list of criteria, and that a 20 minutes at full tilt is part of the specification, and if they meet those specs, then all is good. I think Porsche and other Euro tuners fall into the later group with detailed specifications.
It is all about what you set is the goal and how you test to verify the meeting of those goals.

Jean, thanks for the numbers, I will confirm with my GPS setup when I get a chance. The numbers I posted were gathered with pen and paper with one eye on the road and the other on the two instruments.
I don't see myself meeting the Euro 11.0 sec. times for 0-200 as I am not up to abusing the car to make a claim.
In the 60-30 arena I am still using at least 2 shifts if not 3. 2-3, 3-4, 4-5, or at least 3-4,4-5.
I will post these numbers when I get a chance to retest the car with the proper settings for my XA/22 which I now have.

I have some minor work to be done to the cab so I was going to bring it down instead. I was thinking of bringing the Ruf up on the 5th or 6th of next month.
