Yesterday I ran a 60 to 130 for the first time with 100 octane racing gas. With one person, trained ECU, 61 degrees F, rolling start in 3rd and 3rd to 4th shift only at about 95 MPH, I got 7.1 seconds. I don't think I can go any faster then that. That beats my best time with 91 octane of 7.4 seconds.

I'll post the speedo video as soon as my server is back up.

Hey Bill! How's it going? I'm trying to think it out.....the way some do 60-130 from a rolling start like you, and then those that start out gently on lower gears, then go thru the gears til they get to 130. I guess once 60mph is reached it doesn't matter how you got there? In theory, getting to 60mph is faster using the lower gears compared to rolling start on a taller gear. Wonder if it matter?

Hey Jaime! How's your Ruf doing with the better gas over there?

My fastest 60 to 130 is when I minimize the number of shifts between 60 and 130. That's why I start in third. However, if you want to compare your times with what's published in magazines, you need to take each gear to redline. It's OK to start from a roll in first. We don't care what's going on before 60 MPH, and you could save your clutch and drivetrain.

At first I thought starting in 2nd would be faster, but the extra shift time was much longer than the slightly slower acceleration I have near 60 by starting in 3rd instead. That just shows how flexible the Turbo R is with its broad torque curve.

Note that the CGT does 60 to 130 in 7.3 seconds with two shifts at 82 (2-3) and 112 MPH (3-4). Would it be faster if it started in 3rd to avoid the 2-3 shift? Hard to say. 60 MPH in third puts it at 4500 RPM where the CGT still has good TQ to start going quickly to its optimal HP range to keep it going. So, you would save the shift time and might do 60 to 130 in, say, 6.8 seconds. Maybe someone can test that theory.

LAT with your car and the EKS, those 60-130mph times don't mean much. You need to run again for sure, you should be in the high 6s or low 7s I think.

Bill, great times! Your car is definitely one fast R Turbo, I don't think the others conversions are anywhere close, have you tested any back to back? If they are the same then this is by far the best bang for the buck as far as 993TT packages out there. I am guessing you are at 550hp min.

Here's the video of my 60 to 130 run of 7.1 seconds using 100 octane, one person, trained ECU, 61 degrees F, rolling start in 3rd and 3rd to 4th shift at about 95 MPH.

Daaang, that's fast. I hope my Poof (Porsche/Ruf) can approach that....though I'd have to wait until the middle of January here in Texas for 61deg ambient temp ;-)

Poof.. I like that! Better than Puf! I think you'll find the Ruf turbos and cats make a big difference. Don't forget the extra front oil cooler and the air filter element!

BTW, my Ruf is like all others. Every Turbo R is the same, although some motors may be slightly stronger than others. The Ruf tech told me all 993s feel a bit different since much is built by hand. He thought mine felt pretty solid.

Heya folks a lot of you guys were asking to see the timeslips so I have three of them here.. I have more but they're just 10.7s and 10.8s with very soft launches....

Too bad the MAF went on that 10.62 one.. That was looking really good for a 10.4!

Did some runs today at Bruntingthorpe Airfield on the 2 mile runway at another VMax day. Peaked at 196mph or 195mph every run for 6 runs, calculated after approx 1.5 miles by timing beams, before heavy braking in the 0.5mile braking zone. Won the event for the third time against a few other nice cars, Porsches, Ferrari, Lambos etc, even a Jaguar XJ220 and a Supercharged-Viper GTS.

Anyway, to the point of this thread, which I have just read in it's entirety (phew). Datalogged using the AX22........

Got 60mph-130mph in 8.2 seconds
Got 200kph-300kph in 19.47 seconds

I would say my shifts were 'deliberate' rather than 'ultra-fast', although this more effects the first measure than the second obviously.

Car is a 996GT2 with Ruf 590PS engine package. Driver (me) is a heavy 240lbs or 110kg.....car had full fuel load.

Note this is AX22 - not Speedo speeds.

ok check my video from today
313 km/h at teh German Autobahn.
I hoped teh Autobahn would be more free because of the election but Sunday at 17:00 was really full.
I came out of teh "rastplatz" then accelarating and try to find a gap.
Then wait at about 180 km/h for a slow car to make some room for me, then accelarating till 6800 rpm an dabout 313 km/h.
Two person in the car and 80 Liter of gas.
Enjoy and tell me the times from 60 to 130 ;-) (just joking)
I think 200 to 300km/h is about 17 sec

video is 20 Mb big
