60-130 MPH: New performance measurement!

Jean,
I just tried the link and it worked. He did the run with street tires and from the video was short shifting. Your right, the time should be lower but he is new to this power and has alot to learn. My car is set up for street as well as some weekend DE events. I run it at 15psi of boost but it still is a handful to drive. If I would have known more when I started I would have started with the much better platform that the 993tt has to offer. I never thought I would get bit by the hp bug and not know when enough is enough.

David,
Happy to see the Tilton setup worked out for you (holding power and drivability). I think the last time we spoke you were just about to have it installed.

Marty, if I get a chance to bring it down this fall you will get your wish.
Mark might be interested in joining us and we could check out the back 40 west of Minneapolis.
Regarding times, I believe my car should do better than the R&T tested unit in the 60-130 range as the gears are more aggressive in my car than what RUF uses. RUF gears have more focus on top speed that outright acceleration. I am hoping to break into the low 7's if not better.
I spoke and emailed my data to Race Technology in the UK and they were quite helpful with procedure and had some good sugestions.
I may try to do a few runs tonight if all is right.

Princeton,
I had a number of problems with the install, most were because people did not follow directions on the install and the fact that I have an 89 with it own flywheel for that year. The clutch also seems to work better in the 993 with its master cylinder setup. My engagement distance is smaller and takes some getting use to. This clutch takes anything that you can throw at it. I ran my car at Sebring and the clutch was flawless with the light flywheel and clutch it made the down shifts very fast.

There's no road to Japan
I'm leaving this Friday for Japan, back in a week or so then I'm thinking about taking an extended road trip to some national parks. Just got back from 2 days in Big Sur, nice country side, lousy weather for the most part and I still managed to get sunburnt.

Still dealing with Race Technology on figuring out what is up with my XA/22.
The XA/22 as a tuning tool.
The horsepower calculations are very interesting to view. Not just for the raw numbers which in 5th gear were 207 for my C4 and 510 forthe RUF but also for the fact I can see a dip in the 4th gear orsepower curve at about the higher rpm range which I suspect to be knock sensors doing their thing. I am going to back off boost a little and see if I can get a smooth acceleration curve. 1st through 3rd are very clean. One more thing the seat of my pants isn't sensitive enough for.

Jean, I agree with your analysis and it is because of this that I have emailed the data files to RT to review and we are working together to get to the bottom of the problem.
BTW. I will be doing the same tests for my bone stock 2004 530i to see what I get for results. If you like I can share these

Please fix the AX before posting BMW times here, or you will create a riot
