I ran another 60 to 130 and timed it with the very accurate AP-22 acceleration meter:
Start Speed 60.0mph
mph s g ft hp
70.0 1.08 0.48 104 227
80.0 1.95 0.52 200 283
90.0 2.86 0.47 313 303
100.0 4.24 0.37 506 294
110.0 5.32 0.41 673 358
120.0 6.50 0.35 873 370
130.0 8.34 0.28 1212 366
60 to 130 is 8.34 seconds. Other runs were 8.64 and 8.91, which are all in-line with what the speedo video is showing.

Also, since none of us are using the standard and repeatable engine dyno procedures that the manufacturers use in the car's spec, the numbers quoted for chassis dynos are meaningless. For example, my Ruf has beaten several people with 996 TTs with "over 500 HP to the wheels" and can keep up with a 605 HP CGT.

@Bill s
can you give me the parameters you put in your AP22 (CW weight etc etc)
@all
RUF RS Tuning or other good tuners do not have bigger or smaller HP. They just use real data and do not overstimate their HP as many other do.
yes a car with REAL 520 or 540 HP nad WIDE HP and torque curve will outaccelarate a 600 HP car with narow curve and also a imaginary 700 HP car from some other tuners.
thats why 540 real FW HP are not the same like 540 HP from another tuner.
RUFs HP are not bigger just real (an sometimes they give the lowe rpossible number it can alwasy be a little more but not that much more)

Mass: 1000kg
CdA: 0.900
Roll Resistance: 0.013
Tilt Factor: 0.011
Roll Factor: 0.007
Smoothing: 0.004

Do you have better values for a 993 TT?

Do you know how 525ps translates to the HP quoted by US manufacturers, if at all?

hello
try this
Mass: 1600kg
CdA: 0.900??? I am not sure, check teh web for CD or CW in German) and the A front area
Roll Resistance: 0.014
Tilt Factor: 0.015
Roll Factor: 0.012
Smoothing: 0.01
Trigger Value: 0.15g
you know that you values are right if make a test in 1st 2nd 3rd and 4rth and all gears gives you about the same HP
a 993 TT with k24 remaped ECU and all other small things made right makes about 525-to 540 Hp that last for ever.
all other are either "hype" Hp or run much more boost or do not last at all

993tt
Cd = 0.34
CdxS = 0.656 (where S is the front area 1.93sqm)

Our numbers look pretty similar when I compare the 7.35 run. What peak G numbers did you see ? I got a 0.71g @ 66.83mph on the 7.35s run. This is second to third when the engine can load up nicely with overboost.
I will try and do some more runs when my private airfield becomes a bit quieter

I have just played with some of the parameters and dropped my 60-130 to 8.06 secs by changing the tilt factor to 0.006. I was getting 9.1s when it was set at 0.014. It also seems that how level the unit is on the dash also affects the numbers

Why did you change your tilt factor? Can you take a speedo video for a sanity check?
My peak G was 0.64g at 61.2 mph on the fastest run.

I adjusted the tilt factor as I didn't think our cars squat like other "sports cars" (particularly if you have a tight set up). I think the tilt factor is too low at 0.006. The manual reccomends going to the drag strip and synchronising the tilt factor to the observed times - not something I am likely to do.
It is an interesting point that a 993tt with softer suspension will show different figures than a better controlled one with less squat if the tilt factors are the same - Speedos are probably still the best means, but different wheels and tyres can then affect those readings Anyway, we are accelerating pretty fast for 1600kg + cars

the offer is appreciated, but I will have to learn how to transfer onto the hard drive, but when I do, I will take you up on the hosting. Incidentally I just checked the video runs, there is one where I started in 3rd (just 2 changes) and it appears to do the 60-130 in about 8secs however the image is pretty shakey. Have you tried a 3rd gear start ?
