Depth should be an additional .5mm? No, .05mm

.005 of a mm is .002 of an inch. I think you may be crazy/mistaken

I cannot get rid of the step in the overhang because the reason it is there in the first place is so that it doesn't interfere with the arc of the door handle as it is pulled. I checked it out this morning to try and figure out why it was there.

In test fitting these pieces and looking at the differences between the different pockets I came to a realisation.

The shoulder on the mounted face side closest to the door handle has always been the same. It angles away to allow the door handle to rotate without any obstruction. The non-hifi version of the pocket WAS modified by Porsche to try and address this obviously known issue by making it twice as thick in width that it was previously. What they didn't address was that it all is still supported by one screw and the quality of the plastic which got brittle with age.

Probably not news to anybody else but it was interesting to me.

I'm unclear on how this piece is installed. Is it installed over the broken piece and sistered into place with a longer screw? Or is the old broken piece cut out and the new piece glued and screwed into place?

Either way, I'm interested in replacements for both doors. Thanks for figuring this out!

It is glued over the broken/cracked plastic and the overhang hides a lot of the worst of it.

The blue tape in the second picture is just there to hold my cracked plastic together, in reality, that face will be butted against the plate on the back of the door handle.

Slight modification to my non-hifi piece to try and fill the width at the top a little better. Also moved the hole about 0.5mm. I'll get a print tomorrow.

Ah, I see. Will the overhang be enough to make the cover slightly ajar? Or act like a fulcrum on the hinge if you rest your arm on the cover? Or is it thin enough where it's not causing interference?

It doesn't interfere with the door. It could be a couple of mil thicker but I thought it would be safest to leave some room for all the differently messed up pockets people have.
