Just purchased the HiFi option via Shapeways. Thank you. After reviewing your install, is glue part of your recommended install procedure? Earlier in the thread this looked to be the case, but your most recent pictures do not appear to have used glue?

Glued and screwed! I had to glue to hold the shattered pieces of the door pocket together. You don't have to, but mine were shot. It's probably for the best in the end, but each to their own.

Understood, thank you. Given the material used is black nylon plastic, what is the preferred glue I should use for my install? Or can you direct me to the post #?

I just used liquid nails all-purpose glue. Takes about an hour to really set but I checked it this morning and it was all good. Anything that won't melt the ABS of the pocket will be good I'm sure, unless it says, don't use for plastic/ABS/Nylons.

If you have the option to choose an adhesive, pick up some ABS cement from Home Depot, or super glue. Depending on how you prep the 3D print surface, those adhesives will hold better since they are thinner and seep into the voids well. Plus they are used for that material.

Even though the hifi version says beta, there's no other version coming, correct?

Does one use the original screw to secure it?

Not unless there is an obvious problem, the part has been tested to fit, just not through Shapeways. Actually, the non-hifi is BETA as well at the moment. When a few are ordered and attached, the BETA will be removed from the listing. As I've had experience of these cars being less than consistent in the past, I'm a little hesitant to say that this is the final version and absolutely nothing will change.

Shapeways gives me a cut. I could sell 100 and not recoup the time and effort I've put into them. Luckily I enjoy the challenge more than the reward. Now I just need to figure out what to do with my spare time.......
