Width should be okay with factory screw. Top needs more in my opinion.

This is a longer screw and it bowed the drivers side

The gap at the top can be seen it would be nice to have that covered up.

I will find my door pocket liners and see if they fit underneath these.

Is the height good with the liners in place or do they need to be longer?

I can increase the overhang a bit and send out another set in a few days.

Does the screw hole line up exactly? If it is off, the piece is wrong.

I wouldn't tighten the screws on these much at all, currently, they are very low infill and will deform easily. I've talked to the fabricator about making portions solid.

Did not realize until today mine is cracked - I'm in. Standard non-hifi door pocket.

They should be a bit longer and do not interfere with the liner. A little more overhang should work great. I believe the screw hole placement is good. Thanks g.

Loosening and adjusting the drivers side door panel should allow proper alignment and minimize any distortion in the piece as well.

The overhang can only be as wide as the thickness of the plastic face the piece screws too. The reverse side of this face is supposed to be flush to then back of the door handle. The reason you see more separation is because your pocket is warped. You should screw it in tight and see if that pulls it all three elements together and straightens the join.

Longer as far as depth, deeper in the pocket and maybe the hole through the piece can allow a bit of leeway. The radius-ed shoulder should look sweet as well, and help with fitment out the outer edge. I will try the assembly all tightened up at the latch first, before the installation of the other fasteners. As far as the overhang on the top, its up to you guys. Maybe when and if the placement of the stiffener is adjusted accordingly, the unsightly nastiness at the top of the pocket where the handle hinges will be tolerable. Maybe a bit more overhang would split the difference given everyone's fastener adjustments.

Thanks,

Travis

If you could give me a measurement in any scale of how much extra depth is needed. I will convert it to mm.

You won't see the radius'd shoulder as it will be hidden by the overhang.

What I will do is have the overhang not step with the face of the piece so that it will be a clean rectangle of plastic from above. That will hide the nastiness where the shoulder separates from the mounted face of the door handle.

It's about 1/16 to a 1/32 short for depth so .03 mm to .06 mm

Attached is the shoulder in question in elevation view, not plan view. The extended top flange should help with the jog in the moulding, along with proper adjustment.

Thanks

Split the depth at .05 mm and call it good. A glorious 20/100 of an inch!

Thanks G

Just to get our language synchronised.

The overhang is the top part that hides the unsightly broken plastic. What are you calling the flange?

Depth is height from the bottom of the pocket.

Width is the length of the piece from the outside side of the pocket to the inside where the pocket meets the door-card.

Thickness is how thick the piece should be in cross-section.

Now....

Depth should be an additional .5mm?

Overhang shouldn't follow shoulder underneath but should appear from above to be a rectangle of plastic to hide as much unsightliness as possible.

Width should be and additional .75mm towards the inside of the car?

Depth is height from the bottom of the pocket. Yes, from the bottom of the pocket up to the bottom of the 3d printed masterpiece.

Width is the length of the piece from the outside side of the pocket to the inside where the pocket meets the door-card. No, Inside to inside (of the pocket) seems to be close, but maybe should have the top radius (shoulder) curved out a bit like in my mini photo.

Thickness is how thick the piece should be in cross-section. You bethca, but the overhang thickness may need to be adjusted.

Now....

Depth should be an additional .5mm? No, .05mm

Overhang shouldn't follow shoulder underneath but should appear from above to be a rectangle of plastic to hide as much unsightliness as possible. I guess to me the overhang should try to cover the craziness that we see, when we don't have an overhang, but like you said, not impede in the door handle operation, but with fastening adjustments (x7 or so) we should be able to tighten this gap up. Mine sucked after my stereo install, due to the severe failure of the plastic, which didn't tightnen this joint up like it should, hence the need for these glorious pieces.

Width should be and additional .75mm towards the inside of the car? I am not sure on the .75mm, but maybe towards the upper shoulder, curved little fragment from the mini pic referenced above. This would need to be test fitted once designed, or show me the rendering at least.

Thanks!
