Took a nice ride to the farm for corn and fresh milk. It’s about a 12 mile trek from Fairfield to Easton. Smooth, wonderful country roads… up around the reservoir and through beautiful orchards and farm fields. Zero traffic.

I watched my 17 year old daughter leave with it in the rain (Friday). It was her first solo in the 993.
She asked awhile ago if I’d let her drive it to school the first week, and told her it wasn’t a problem. Why not? With the light weight flywheel, and RS clutch it is a tiny bit temperamental. Obviously the floor mounted pedals are a bit unusual, and the Fister IIIs aren’t particularly subtle or forgiving with regard to imprecise throttle modulation, so all of that intimidated her a bit at first. Ultimately it’s just a car, and she picked it up quickly. She also responsibly daily drives a 6 speed MT that’s faster than my 993, so I wasn’t worried about her abusing the performance. The only issue was withdrawal, since I couldn’t drive it myself for a whole day.
Anyway, she was excited to leave and glowing when she got home. That’s exactly what these cars are all about.
It’s a busy last weekend before school for our family with my wife being a teacher and both kids in university. So, to kill two birds with one stone my daughter and I took a one hour cruise after washing the car and picked up Greek food for dinner. She got a kick out of all of the thumbs up and ‘waves’ from other p-car owners.

Let her drive it? Absolutely with you. Subjecting you air cooled vintage Porsche to a High School parking lot? I’d be lying it I championed that as a good idea.
Awesome that she is able to handle the car though.
Went to a car show yesterday in Manchester, NH. Must have been 1,000 cars, they shut down several blocks of downtown for the event. Mostly American from the 20's to the new Corvette. A lone example of the following: my 993, 964, 914, 924. No newer Porsches. As I was slowing driving my car past people to park, I heard a kid say "is that a Ferrari?"

I went on a several hundred mile road trip around CA and along the coast this holiday weekend with the gf. the 993 was flawless as usual, but when I got home my rear license plate bracket was barely holding on with a single fastener. Glad I didn't lose the plate lol.
During the trip, I ran into a heavy traffic jam going up a hill just North of Pismo due to an accident. That certainly gave me a master class in 993 clutch control real quick lol. I also used the sunroof for the first time but soon closed it since the sun was pretty intense.

I can relate. I once took the 993 to Pikes Peak International Hillclimb. Solid 3 hours of uphill traffic. Probably gave up 10k miles on the clutch that day.
Quick question for y'all as I'm not around my car to check-
What line is this? I believe it's the oil return but wanted to verify with someone before looking into replacing it. My car started sweating oil from the crimp on the line.
