I wouldn't say it's not sought after but I do agree with the point you're trying make. While the silver with midnight blue interior is a 'less common' spec, the silver with green interior is 'rare' and more sought after by collectors.

if you were considering selling or maybe cashing in and retiring, this is a great time to jump.

I think when people are looking for a spec with Silver, Silver/Blue isn't usually what they seek out. Silver/Black or Silver/Red are much more desirable specs. Blue and Gray interiors are actually pretty common as well for Silver cars.

What fun is retirement without a WB 993?

That’s hogwash! These cars will maybe “level out” but go up and up again.

Well yes, at least 2 people anyway. Just struck me as funny that the sale which would put the value discussion to bed was less than a recent sale of the car compared to, rare spec or not.

i wasn't projecting where these cars might go or not, i was simply saying that if you've reached that time in your life, this is a good time to cash in the chips. i'm still holding my chips and i'm not looking for the market to soften any time soon. my window is probably 10 years from now.

all the WBs are gorgeous and we're all lucky to own what we own - these are dreams for most people.

but..., the C4S was produced as a 'turbo-look' spec - an M491 for it's day - and the C2S was a parts bin car.

You guys call me when a rarer car is less desirable. Until then we can stop with the c4s vs c2s. Its already been discussed here. Surprisingly c4s owners say c4s and c2s owners say c2s. For a legitimate opinion look elsewhere than owners going back and forth. (spoiler alert the c2s is more desirable)

I have a 4S that I absolutely love and what you’re saying is true. It’s also true, however, that time has been very kind to the 2S brings to the table. Original intent, production numbers, turbo brakes, etc., they only go so far when it’s been 20+ years after the last one rolled off the line. The buyers of today are speaking and have been speaking for some time.

At the end of the day, all 993s and their owners (especially WB owners) have so much more in common with each other than these relatively small differences in spec and value.

For any fine footwear aficianados here, it’s like we’re arguing about the merits between Alden Whiskey or Cigar shell cordovan boots. Both are quite rare to source, niche products in the big picture, have small differences in character but are nearly the exact same thing.

I suppose every forum has to have it’s own recurring “controversial” topics, otherwise there would be less engaging discourse all around.

So long as we keep the 2S vs 4S banter civil, or better yet, humorous...

As I said in an aged post, being 993 owners and then specifically WBs, there is more that unite than divide us.
