I've been a long time lurker but stopped looking for a 993 wb when their prices escalated to these insane levels. No one would pay more than 100k for a 4S 6 months ago so I don't see how 150k for one is anywhere near a good buy. The cars haven't changed in the past 6 months. They are good but not that great. Just don't get it and I've owned one before. Would rather spend that kind of money on a gt3/gt4.

I have a 992 that costs $150k. The 993 is better.
There are plenty of people out there who are looking for what the 993 offers and they can't find it elsewhere. It's a finite commodity - even more so if you want the WB.

“In May I bought a SY 98 C2S with 19k miles for $52k. All history, immaculate concours winner with factory aero kit.”
The bottom line is prices are driven by market desirability. The WB cars seem to be today’s “darling”. Who knows what tomorrow holds. If the 993 is not for you, no one is in a position to question your decision. But as long as there are enough others that disagree, prices will continue to remain flat or rise just like any other product.

With 1 post, non Rennlist Member and join date of July 21”…. “Cough” So……… Yeah …. people were paying $100k for low mile 993 WB cars 6 months ago so that’s an inaccurate statement. These low mile pristine cars have been bringing over a $100k for some time now. Low production adds to the current feeding frenzy and appreciation for what it is. Car is like 25 years old now and many have been wrecked, bastardized, crushed, R-Titled etc…. Your opinion is your opinion. The 993 is the last of the Air Cooled Iterations NEVER to be produced again. EVER. Last of the somewhat hand built cars ever to be produced again. I’ve driven most 911 variants and the 993 platform is one of the best raw driving, driver focused, NON Nanny, in my opinion. This is well known and well discussed throughout the Porsche community. The WB 993 is also one most beautiful 911s ever produced as most will agree.
GT3/GT4 has nothing to do in comparison to a 993 Air Cooled car. Apples / Oranges… and most will agree they will own both… but in the end keep the 993 before selling the GT3. There is N O T H I N G like a Air Cooled Flat 6 wailing behind your head at WOT!

You also sound really salty, WB 993s are great. Saying you rather spend that money on a GT3/GT4 is like saying you want to go buy an Audi R8 or something random... just go do that. Not even the same comparison. But if you don't get a 993 now, don't expect to get one any cheaper in the future.

While I did join just to state my opinion, I am fully in agreement that we should delete my comments. It appears that too many are offended by it. While my comment about 6 months and 100k is more of a hyperbole, the point was that there's talk about 150 being the new norm and a year ago, most would think that was way too much. Sure there are reasons why people covet the 993 but imo, 150 is a lot of money for it. I'm not just picking on the 993 cause there are plenty of other cars sold at WTF prices but the 993 does seem to have one of the larger jumps in valuation. Anyways, enjoy you cars and won't hear from me again.

just as an extreme example, how about $70M for a '63 250 GTO? there's no way the materials of the car would warrant that amount. driving dynamics, mystique, exclusivity, provenance, and a desire to have the coolest 'toy' in the car world make that number possible. scale it WAY DOWN and you have the 993 WB of today.
another one..., pre-owned Singers bring $1M+ or the DLS priced at $1.8M and they can't sell enough of them.
lots and LOTS of money out there, folks!!

When I used to drive my 993 around time, no one even noticed it. It was another 911 in a sea of 911's.
Now, I can't drive a block without someone stopping me...
"What year?"
"For sale?"
"Wow!"
"I want one of those soooo bad."
"2 or 4?" (I'm debadged from factory...)
To comment on Jaferd... Anyone with $150k and a tiktok following can buy a GT3 with PDK. But cool mother *uckers want a 993 with fatty hips and an Hbox.![Stick Out Tongue](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
It's funny to have a car that has transitioned from pedestrian to head turning.
